Even wet weather couldn’t stop our 19 unstoppable Phoenixes today!

We warmed up as the clouds lifted, and lucky us-no rain to be seen throughout our session!
Coach Julie led a brilliant session, and it was wonderful to welcome back Marita and have May with us and on the water again.

Our Wednesday Warriors pushed hard, stayed upbeat, and kept the conversations rolling through a terrific training session. Coach Lindy took us through a variety of drills, and it was just so exhilarating racing against the wind and choppy water!

Beautiful morning on the water with great energy and even better company.
Welcome back into the boat May, Lora and Hazel, we missed you!
It was a perfect day to try a few things -
🥁 Leona jumped on the drum for the first time and absolutely nailed it. Well done!
🛶 Yvonne kept us gliding with steady sweeping and we practiced stopping and paddling through wake.

And a special shout-out to Annie and Martin- whose gorgeous Christmas bauble earrings have helped raise $200 for the Breast Cancer Network Australia BCNA so far!

A Full boat, including a drummer on board, and sunny, gorgeous conditions.
Yvonne and Linda kept us steady on the water sweeping half a session each, and Coach and drummer Lindy helped us perfour technique. We welcomed Eva back to the crew, and it was so great to see Pam and Barb with us too!
Plus… our shiny new sandwich board sign made its debut!

A HUGE congratulations to our Pink Phoenix members Sue P, Val, Nikki, Julie P and Nicole who completed their Victorian state squad training yesterday. A massive feat to back it up the day after the Footscray Regatta!

Each of them paddled the boat 200m by themselves, as well as paddling a 500m and 1k race with a crew. The conditions were tricky and the winds strong- we are so proud of you all giving it your best shot!

Big shoutout also to our sweeps Julie O and Linda P who volunteered on the day to sweep the time trial boats. Difficult conditions, which they navigated throughout the four different seasons on the day 😝

Wow! What an incredible day we had at the Dragon Boat Victoria Corporate games Footscray Regatta!!

Beautiful weather, plenty of racing, a big crew of happy paddlers and even some bling!
Congratulations to our amazing team for their efforts today- First and Second in the BCP 10s races and 2nd in the women’s 10s!
Well done to Astrid and Leona on their very first regatta- we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Thanks to our coaches and sweeps, team captains, volunteers and everyone in the crew who helped make the day fun and exciting-
