Not that long ago ,
Daddy wanted to surf as you would know
You came into this world , and it felt like heaven

With mum who was heavy ,
I could not lift
Around the corners, we did drift

Straight to emergency and up the lift
Into a room ,
At this point, I needed some “goon “!

Hours passed by with dad in tears but soon forgotten and passed with cheers ,
My son, you were born and angel that be , live life true it will set you free

My 3 loves and passion in this madness, and only loves ❤️..My two boyz Xav and Arch , Surfing and Restoring ❤️❤️🦋…This one, hours and hours and challenging to date, 1970’s” SpeedStick” shaped originally from Sydney factory for Gordon and Smith. I’m still nutting out which one of the lads shaped this one as markings were impossible to read.

The surgeons sleigh on its way to deliver some Xmas joy. Had fun with this one. Graphics done by up and coming artist and prize winner Zak BUCHANHAN @ Zak designs, printed by Hellen at Acid Rip decals. Thank you Hellen. Hellen is amazing at her craft, quick , quality and well priced and knows the surf industry.

Repairs will keep on going into 2025. Thanks to all the loyal Hobart crew, Thomas dogs, Paul, the park beach crew, Wani, Ben , Nathan . Going to spend some much needed time with family and loved ones, especially one awesome lady and her crazy beautiful tough as nuts crew . Thank you 🙏

Last custom board for 24 coming up . Stay tuned . The surgery in St Helen’s and Launceston will be open as normal trading hours for repairs only until i decide when i need a good dose of pits and workable walls 🏄🙏.

Custom fabrications and boat work to start up January 2 nd unless emergency. So book now as filling up for the 2025 boat season .

Huge shout out to Shipstern Surf store Sorrel , The Fibreglass Shop in Argyle Street Hobart, Nathan for his courier runs and skilz , and 1 special and patient and women who showed support and offered their space , to get new equipment and help service the north west and Launceston Crew , love ❤️. … definitely all part of the ship and part of the crew. What I would have given for a hug 🤷‍♂️!

Beautiful ship , beautiful day …well it started that way.

15 hours of prep and repairs before spray and flow coat, wet sand cut , polish then condition. Just as I layed down the first run of gel coat, (a tacky sticky resin for flow coat to bond to simply) a sudden storm hit . Raining hard for 15-20 mins on a gel coat no less than a few minutes down. Impossible to remove when wet and cured . A combination of acetone, wet sand, sander got it back to a blank canvas to redo hours of prep.

Into day 4 gel coat down, and as I just layed the flow coat ,😔😔😣😣☹️….along came a huge gale, causing a stormy sea and rocking the floating marina .

My work equipment, sanders, routers, dremmel, rulers, specialty drill bits, resin, catalyst, rolls of fiberglass cloth, chop strand, cups, scissors acetone, basically EVERY Tool I need to do repairs, shape boards, repair boats ended up either at the bottom of Davey Jones Locker or got salt water damaged .

My prize winning spray gun I watched float off to New Zealand.

Apologies to those waiting on their boards to be repaired or finished. Sorry I have no tools. I’ll do my best to finish asap when I get back to the surgery from Launceston as my car and only work car has blown up and mangled front suspension.

Boat came up good don’t you think 🤷‍♂️💪

Coming from a warmer humid climate to hotter direct heat, resulted in some violent femme blisters in the sun. Not only do boat suffer from Osmosis, but fiberglass in many applications subject to the weather can suffer from this condition.

Surgery was required immediately to stop any further delamination.

Iv done so many flames over the years for others and never for myself. Growing up through that 80s era pottz , flames and power surfing caught my eye.
