Myotherapy is derived from the Greek root "myo" meaning muscle. It is a form of manual medicine focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal pain & dysfunction. Soft tissues, joints & ligaments can be damaged or irritated in accidents, sporting activities, by using incorrect posture, from over-use (repetitive activities) or under-use, disease, or by physical and emotional stress. Myotherapy aims to restore maximum mobility to these areas by correcting and rehabilitating the injury and preventing re-occurrence. Diagnosis is achieved through assessment of active & passive movements, neurological examination and orthopedic tests. Myotherapy offers a holistic approach is taken to patient care, not only treating the symptoms, but also the underlying cause of pain and dysfunction in the musculoskeletal system. The treatment can be preventative, corrective or rehabilitative. Clinical Myotherapy offers an individualized, personal session which aims at treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal irregularities. The treatment will provide specialist muscle therapy in order to relieve pain, improve mobility and restore muscle function.

Functional Cupping Magic ✨

A fabulous dancer with huge training loads came in with a flare-up of patellar fat pad inflammation — a painful and frustrating condition when your knees are under constant demand.

Functional cupping was the perfect modality in this situation. By working through the entire kinetic chain and reproducing the movements required for dance, we can help restore proper muscle function and reduce irritation around the knee.

The quadriceps are made up of multiple layers of muscle and fascia, all needing to slide and glide efficiently to allow strong, coordinated contraction. When those layers become restricted, the knee often pays the price.

This patient prefers no dry needling, which is absolutely fine — great results can still be achieved using the right combination of techniques and clinical reasoning.

Every body is different, and great treatment means adapting to what works best for each patient. 💪
