Urgent update:
NO IN-PERSON classes at the Pilates Moves Studio until we have a clearer picture of the Double Bay/Rose Bay/CYCA COVID-19 alert. We’re reverting to Online classes temporarily, from Tuesday 18th until Sunday 30th August.
There is an updated NSW Health warning regarding anyone who attended:
⁃ Café Perons in Double Bay from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday 8th August;
⁃ Den Sushi in Rose Bay from 7:15pm to 8:45pm on Saturday 8th August.
“Anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – is urged to self-isolate and seek testing. Do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19.”
Further details of the NSW Health updates can be found here:
https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates -health-alerts.
In addition we previously requested that anyone who has attended the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia since the beginning of August not attend either studio in-person for 2 weeks since their last attendance at CYCA.
As always the safety & health of our clients & instructors comes first. So we will not be running any in-person classes at the Pilates Moves Studio in Double Bay from now until we’re confident that the situation is under control. If you live in the Double Bay or Rose Bay area, then we request that you also don’t attend our Emergy Pilates Studio in Rushcutters Bay until the Pilates Moves studio reopens on-site on Monday 31st August.
Your options for any booked in-person Studio class at Pilates Moves within the stated date range are:
(1) join us for an Online class via Zoom instead; or
(2) be refunded your booked session.
We can provide instructors’ Zoom details as needed.
Here’s hoping we get good news from NSW Health in the coming days, & we’ll keep you posted once we know more. Please wear a mask when out in public spaces, download the COVIDSafe app, and be thoughtful & kind to everyone you meet in this challenging time.
Lots of love & good health.

Urgent update:

NO IN-PERSON classes at our sister studio Emergy Pilates in Rushcutters Bay until we have a clearer picture of the Potts Point COVID-19 outbreak. We’ve reverted to Online classes for our scheduled classes at Emergy temporarily, from Monday 27th July until Sunday 9th August.

There are updated NSW Health warnings regarding Potts Point, 1 specific & 1 general.

Specific: Anyone who attended the Thai Rock Restaurant at Potts Point between Wednesday 15th & Saturday 25th July, or The Apollo restaurant at Potts Point from Wednesday 22nd to Saturday 25th July, needs to be tested for COVID-19 & self-isolate for 14 days regardless of that test result.

General: Anyone who lives in or has “visited the Sydney suburb of Potts Point in the past two weeks” should get tested for COVID-19 if they have symptoms. “Anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – is urged to self-isolate and seek testing. Do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19.”

Further details of the NSW Health updates can be found here:

If you live in or have visited the Potts Point area in the past 2 weeks, then we request that you also don’t attend our Pilates Moves Studio in Double Bay at the moment.

We’ve chosen Sunday 9th August as our initial target date as that will be 2 weeks from the first reports of the Potts Point outbreak, which is approximately 1 full incubation cycle of the virus. Once we have a clearer picture of the health situation in our local area we will reassess our position in relation to in-person classes.

Your options for any booked in-person Studio class at Emergy within the stated date range are:

In Australia & New Zealand, ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance that commemorates those Aussies & Kiwis "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" & "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served".
Traditionally many Australians would wake early for a dawn service at their local war memorial, park or Returned Serviceman’s League (RSL) club, followed by a breakfast & maybe even a game of 2-up & a beer.
This year as we experience physical distancing & cancellation of mass gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, commemorating our fine servicemen & women past, present & future was done differently, although with no less heart. By taking ourselves to our balconies, end of our driveways & in our family’s case our rooftop to pay our respects & reflect on the service given by those in the Australian & New Zealand Defence Forces. We lit our real & virtual candles to as we recited The Ode, which is one of the traditional recitations on ANZAC day. It is the fourth stanza of Laurence Binyon's poem "For the Fallen" & goes:They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morningWe will remember them.
Lest we forget.
It was incredibly moving to hear 3 different musicians in our immediate area play ‘The Last Post’. A piece of music that never fails to bring tears to Helen’s eyes.
On another note, let’s take the time to also pay our respects to our brave medical workers of COVID-19, who are the front-liners fighting our globe’s current invisible invader.

One of the official themes of this is “Distance not silence”. Physical distancing can be offset by social connectedness, at the local & global level. When we talk about the “global interconnectedness of our world”, let’s remember that phrase has both “globe” & “world” in it. We only have 10 years left to avoid a catastrophic climate future. Let’s forge a better path together. 🙏✊🤗
