- John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, 5. The Respect Life Office (RLO) was launched on 17 May 2003 in the Perth Archdiocese under the initiative of Catholic Archbishop, Most Rev. Barry James Hickey. Drawing on the teachings of the Catholic Church, the office seeks to promote within society, especially among the young, the sanctity and dignity of all human life in order to build up an authentic civilisation of truth and love. The works of the office include:

◾Assisting in organising the Embrace the Grace Youth Conference for the Archdiocese of Perth, and PD events.
◾Being a contact point for the public on life issues and a referral service to other agencies.
◾Providing information, resources, publications and presentations on life issues to schools, parishes and groups.
◾Using the media to promote the culture of life and educating the public.
◾Presenting the Church’s position on issues of life through the media and in other forms to educate individuals and groups.
◾Inviting experts to present at seminars.
◾Working collaboratively with people and organisations to share ideas and offer mutual support.
◾Cooperating closely with pro-life agencies such as the LJ Goody Bioethics Centre, independent Catholic groups and other Christian Churches.
◾Promoting prayer as a means of changing hearts and minds through the power of the Holy Spirit in building up a culture of life.

Happy World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly 💛

This Sunday, we honour the grandparents and elderly in our lives—those who, like Saints Joachim and Anne, carry wisdom, faith, and deep love across generations.

“Blessed are those who have not lost hope” (Sir 14:2).
Our elderly are not only recipients of care, but witnesses of hope—those who have passed on the faith, shared their wisdom, and helped shape the Church through their steadfast love and example.

The evening was filled with heartfelt testimonies from Belinda and Sharne and profound insights from Natalie, who reminded us of Mary's humility and gratitude. 💖
