As part of our International Women’s Month celebration, we’re proud to recognise the incredible superwomen of CnG ✨️

Rachel Knight has been with Connect ‘n’ Grow for nearly a decade, working across many areas of the organisation before stepping into her role as Head of Corporate Services. She helps ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, supporting the teams that make our programs possible.

Rachel is most proud of witnessing the incredible growth of Connect ‘n’ Grow — from a small group of students in Far North Queensland to a program that now reaches across Queensland and South Australia. Seeing students graduate, pursue further study, and step into careers in healthcare is what makes the work truly meaningful.

Her advice to other women entering the industry is to back yourself and stay open to opportunity. By being willing to challenge yourself and put your hand up for growth, you never know where the journey might take you. 💙

The School Holiday Program offers students the chance to complete the HLT23221 Certificate II in Health Support Services, gaining a nationally recognised qualification while exploring the world of healthcare.

Through a combination of hands-on practical training and flexible online learning, students develop real-world skills and valuable industry knowledge — all designed to fit around their school schedule.

A great opportunity to build confidence, gain early exposure to the health industry, and take the first step toward future career pathways.

As we celebrate International Women’s Month, we’re shining a light on the incredible superwomen of CnG ✨️

Nikki Bowes has been part of the Connect ‘n’ Grow family for over 10 years, dedicating her work to building strong relationships with schools and creating real opportunities for students to pursue careers in health. One of her proudest moments has been seeing our programs grow from just 35 students to around 4,000 across the state — and watching those students step confidently into their futures.

Nikki’s advice to other women entering the industry is simple but powerful: back yourself. Trust your ability, build meaningful relationships, and remember that leading with empathy and integrity can make a lasting difference. 💙

Dementia touches many lives, but awareness helps build more compassionate and understanding communities. Today we stand together in support of those living with dementia and the people who care for them.

We even have a special guest joining us – Rusty, an 8-year-old German Shepherd belonging to one of our staff, proudly featuring in our Denim Day too! 🐾💙
