Summer walks are fun, but scorching pavement can burn your pup’s paws.
Quick tip: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5-7 seconds - if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them!
Other tips to keep walks safe:
Walk early mornings or late evenings when it’s cooler.
Stick to grassy paths whenever possible.
Keep walks shorter on hot days.
Always have fresh water on hand.
A little caution goes a long way to keeping tails wagging safely this summer!

RABBIT OWNERS - RHDV1-K5 Wild Rabbit Control Program
A wild rabbit control program is scheduled for the Greater Sydney Local Government Areas, including the Central Coast, in early-March 2026 and will include the release of Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV 1-K5), a rabbit calicivirus K5 strain.
The RHDV1-K5 release date is: First week of March 2026.
For best protection rabbits should be vaccinated prior to mid February 2026.
