GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro are powerful tools for weight loss.
They reduce appetite.
They improve blood sugar control.
They quiet food noise.
For many women - especially in perimenopause… that can feel life changing.
But higher dose does not automatically mean better results.
When calories drop too low, too quickly, the body reads that as stress.
Without enough protein, strength training and nutrient support, I’m seeing:
👉 Muscle loss
👉 Slower metabolic rate
👉 Fatigue
👉 Hair shedding from rapid weight loss
👉 Micronutrient depletion
And in perimenopause, you are already more prone to muscle loss, insulin resistance and higher cortisol.
Stack aggressive dosing on top without a framework - and rebound becomes more likely.
This is why a holistic approach is still needed.
Peptites can regulate appetite.
But you still need:
✅ Adequate protein
✅ Resistance training
✅ Iron and B vitamin monitoring
✅ Nervous system regulation
✅ A sustainable dosing strategy
The goal isn’t maximum suppression.
It’s the lowest effective dose while protecting muscle, metabolism and long term health.
GLP-1s aren’t the problem. Poor implementation is.
If you’re on one or considering it - and want to approach it intelligently, DM me “GLP”.
