When everything feels out of control, the goal isn’t to force calm — it’s to gently guide your thoughts somewhere safer.

Small language shifts can change how the brain processes stress. These phrases don’t erase overwhelm, but they help create space between you and the feeling.

You don’t need perfect control to feel grounded.

Save this for the moments when you feel out of control 🤍

For more support, we provide Psychology and counselling services with telehealth or face-to-face options in Drysdale. To book an appointment, call us on 03 5292 8833 or visit our website https:/www.happyminds.net.au

Early support matters!

We know body image concerns can begin early and often increase during the teenage years.

Research from shows links between social media use and young people feeling more dissatisfied with their bodies.
Including increased pressure to be thinner, lower body appreciation, and reduced well-being. Across genders, 64% of young people also report a desire to be “more muscular”.

At Happy Minds, we support teenagers using evidence-based psychological approaches that help them:
– Build a more balanced relationship with food and body image
– Reduce self-criticism and anxiety
– Strengthen coping and emotional regulation
– Involve families where appropriate

If you’re concerned about your teenager, you don’t need to wait for things to escalate.
We’re here to help.

We also offer psychology and counselling services via telehealth Australia-wide or face-to-face in Drysdale.

Our very own SJ has been chatting all about surrogacy with the fabulous sarah_surrogacylawyer

"In Episode One of the SJ Conversations, we talked about the pre-surrogacy processes and how surrogacy teams can prepare for a positive experience and to manage the challenges during surrogacy and beyond.

Now in Episode Two, we’re diving deep into discussions about surrogacy pregnancy and birth and the challenges that surrogacy teams can face. We also talk about the different experiences of intended parents and surrogates."

On World Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day (WICAMHD), held on April 23, 2026, we’re reminded that mental health begins in the earliest years of life, and continues to grow and change over time. 🤍

Around the world, organisations, practitioners, and communities come together through conversations, research, and events to raise awareness and strengthen support for children and families.

Children and young people may not always have the words to explain how they feel, but their emotions, behaviours, and experiences matter.
Supportive relationships, early intervention, and safe environments can make a meaningful difference to a young person’s wellbeing.

For parents and caregivers, it’s not about getting it perfect; it’s about being present, responsive, and open to support when it’s needed.

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential psychological support to employees dealing with personal or work-related challenges. These may include:

Stress and burnout
Anxiety or low mood
Workplace conflict
Exposure to trauma or critical incidents
Personal or family difficulties

A well-designed EAP program for employees in Geelong gives staff a safe, independent space to talk through challenges and access practical strategies to cope and recover.
