The Pastoral Hotel, Dubbo’s Employee of the Year 🌟

For Jonathan, The Pastoral isn't just a workplace—it’s a community where he truly shines. Having been a regular face on the Wednesday-to-Friday roster for years, Jonathan’s passion for his role recently led him to pick up extra shifts on Saturdays.

He has mastered the art of work-life balance, too! On Thursdays, Jonathan looks forward to his 1:1 time, which usually involves a standing reservation at the pool table and dinner at his workplace. 🎱

50 Years of Smiles: Celebrating Jenny! 🌟

We are raising a glass (and a bowling ball!) to the incredible Jenny, who is celebrating a massive milestone—50 years as part of the Westhaven community!

Jenny’s journey with us began when she was just six years old, moving into O’Brien House. Since then, she has been a firsthand witness to our history and growth. From her school days at Fairview to transitioning from the village into her own community setting, Jenny has truly seen it all.

Many of you might remember Jenny from the Westhaven workshop starting back in 1987. She wasn't just a worker; she was a mentor! Jenny famously taught many others the art of making sheepskin boots, creating lasting memories and lifelong friendships along the way. These days, Jenny is as active as ever! When she isn’t spending time with her family or catching up with friends at our Day Centre, you’ll find her at the bowling alley. She’s a regular at our fortnightly ten-pin bowling sessions—and let’s just say she’s a very fierce competitor!

Jenny, thank you for being such a vital part of our story for the last half-century. Westhaven wouldn't be the same without you.
