Hear our Heart Ear Bus Project

Hear our Heart Ear Bus Project A project of the Dubbo and District Parent Support Group for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Inc. Otitis Media is a big problem in children's health.

Our mission is to raise funds to continue our mobile children's ear education/health clinic that travels to schools in Dubbo and Districts. The project teaches ear health prevention and awareness as well as provides an Audiologists to diagnose children's hearing problems. From this we then provide the pathways to care for parents and schools. We also have access to a monthly free supported Ear Specialist clinic in Dubbo and supported Australian Hearing appointments. Our bus has been proudly donated by Sainsbury Automotive in Dubbo and fitted out by Alloy Welding and Ray Tobin signs who provided free manpower. Dubbo City Toyota provides our fuel.our staff are proudly funded by The Walter and Eliza Hall Charitable Foundation. It not only effects and reduces hearing it also causes social issues and learning difficulties. We want to combat this problem and with the communities help we can. Make sure you and your friends take part in one or more of the Hear Our Heart events as you may be saving your own or a relatives child's hearing in the future. ❤️✨ A little update from Team Hear Our Heart

Our much-loved puppet friends Sam & Lucy are making a new cartoon appearance !

The Team at Hear Our Heart has been working behind the scenes updating and creating new cartoon versions of Sam & Lucy to support our educational resources and classroom visits.

You’ll start seeing them popping up on our activity sheets, posters and learning materials as we continue supporting children’s hearing health across our community.

We hope you love them as much as we do 🫧👂

Thank you for being part of the Hear Our Heart family.

❤️What a lovely man Dr Hayder Ridha is!

Enjoying himself on holidays catching up on much needed sleep, he opened his clinic and saw one of our little ones who was in serious pain.

Wellington mum Toni had taken little Amarah to Wellington and Dubbo Base Hospitals yet Amarah was getting worse. So our President of Dubbo District Deaf Club, Peter Pringle put a call out for help and Dr Ridha came to the rescue ❤️

Isn’t Dr Ridha the best!

Did you know he is one of our biggest fans and has been helping us behind the scenes since 2014.

🌸Happy New Year Dr Ridha and your family 🌸

🎄 Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 🎄

Wishing our incredible team, sponsors, volunteers, community & their family and friends a safe, joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you for all you do, your support, care, and dedication, it makes such a difference.
We’re grateful for this year and excited for what’s ahead in 2026 ✨

24/12/2025

As we wrap up another year, I want to take a moment to say thank you! What a year!

First and foremost, to our Hear Our Heart team ❤️
This year has been busy and rewarding, and each of you continued to show up with professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the children and families we support. The care, dedication, and teamwork you bring to your roles often happens quietly behind the scenes, but the impact is felt by every child and family you help. I am incredibly proud to work alongside such a dedicated and caring team. Thank you.

To our community partners, schools, preschools, early learning centres, health services, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers, thank you for making our work possible. Whether you have contributed your time, expertise, resources, funding, or belief in our mission, your support allows HOH to reach children who might otherwise miss out on vital hearing care. We truly could not do this without you!

This year we’ve seen some exciting growth at Hear Our Heart, expanding our regional and remote community days, welcoming new early learning centres who have embraced hearing health as a vital part of early development, strengthening partnerships, welcoming new team members, and seeing many across the team upskill, grow in confidence, and expand their capabilities. Every step forward has been a team effort and i could not be prouder of each of them.

To everyone who has supported The Hear Our Heart Ear Bus Project big or small, publicly or quietly behind the scenes, please know how deeply grateful we are. Your support means more than words can say.

As we head into the new year, we are excited for what lies ahead and grateful for the incredible people who walk alongside us.

I’ve attached a few (FB would only allow 50!) of our favourite photos and adventures from the past 12 months, moments that reflect the heart, hard work, and joy behind what we do.

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and well-deserved break.
Here’s to a bright year ahead for every one of you 💛
