📣 Exciting Medicare Update for Families!

From 1 March 2026, more children and young people across Australia may be able to access Medicare rebates for speech pathology services under the expanded MBS M10 program.

This important change means eligible children may now receive Medicare rebates for speech pathology assessment and therapy services, helping to reduce the financial barrier to accessing support.

WHO?
Children and young people under 25 years of age who are suspected of, or diagnosed with:
✔️ Stuttering
✔️ Speech sound disorders
✔️ Cleft lip and/or palate

WHAT?
Eligible children may access rebates for:
✔️ Up to 8 assessment sessions
✔️ Up to 20 therapy sessions

HOW?
1. Visit your GP or Paediatrician
2. Discuss your speech concerns
3. Request an MBS M10 referral
4. Schedule an appointment with your Speech Pathologist!
5. Claim your rebate of $87.25 per session

Everyone's talking about the new NDIS Price Guide - and for good reason.

Some therapy fees have gone down, others haven't increased in seven years, and funding for travel has been cut in half.

But this isn't about therapists' income. It's a problem because this doesn't reflect the true cost of providing quality support.

It's becoming harder and harder for providers to offer sustainable services, and that ultimately affects the people NDIS is meant to support.

We need a funding model that values both participants and the professionals who support them.
