Today we celebrate 10 years since we opened our doors! What we didn’t realise 10 years ago, was the incredible journey we were about to embark on. It has been an absolute privilege to meet so many beautiful individuals and families, 1000’s of patients have walked through our front door over the years and we just wanted to take the opportunity to say 🩵THANK YOU🩵 to EACH and EVERY one of you, because without YOU, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Whether you visited us once or have been coming to see us for years, you are all a part of our journey. We are eternally grateful for the support! It’s been a wild ride at times, and we are so excited for the future! Our hearts are full!

Part 2…..
This weekend saw the birth of our final babies..although who knows what the future holds, I guess we can never say never!
Over 30 years and 1000’s of babies, what a privilege it has been 🤍
We have been so honoured to have been a part of so many amazing families journey to parenthood, and it is not something we ever take for granted.
There has been everything from heartbreak to pure joy, and to support each and every one of you through that has been a blessing.
Over the years, the cards and kind words have quite honestly been overwhelming. Thank you 🙏🏼
Words will never be enough, but please know how grateful we are for each and every one of you!
Thank you always for your unwavering support, it really is quite humbling 🤍

Rest assured, we are still here for gynaecology (or just a visit!) and will be for a long time yet!

Please forgive us for the long post(s)!
This past month or so has seen some pretty big changes for us all. It’s been one that has brought with it a whole lot of emotion!
Part 1….About 4 weeks ago we said goodbye to our gorgeous, smiley, loyal, dedicated, chief baby cuddler, Laura.
Laura has been part of the gang for almost 7 years and has brought so much joy to all of our lives. We’ve shared laughs and tears, had heaps of fun along the way, and she is very much missed by us all, but an opportunity to take on another challenge to grow both professionally and personally was too good to refuse and we are incredibly proud of her! So Laura, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for your love and commitment to ‘50A’, we wish you all the happiness and success in the future xx

I am excited to announce that I have joined the team at Oasis Fertility Centre Perth. After a little hiatus, I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to work with such a passionate & dynamic team in this world class facility, with the most incredible view of our beautiful city!

For all of my gynae and obstetric patients, I will still be consulting as per normal from our clinic in Duncraig. I look forward to seeing you all soon!

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Rowlands brings extensive expertise to our team. He graduated from Dundee University in Scotland and completed Specialist Training in O&G in England, earning multiple prestigious certifications.

Dr. Rowlands is highly skilled in all aspects of fertility medicine, including IVF, egg collections, embryo transfers, and corrective pelvic surgeries. His commitment to excellence is reflected in his significant contributions to the field, having prescribed over 4,000 cycles of IVF throughout his 10 years in reproductive medicine.

We're honoured to have Dr. Rowlands on board, providing compassionate care and support to individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood.

Today marked the end of an era for us with the birth of our last beautiful Glengarry baby.
It’s been an unsettling couple of weeks for our patients, our staff and all of the beautiful midwives and staff of the amazing maternity unit at Glengarry Private Hospital
The support we have received from past and present patients, friends and colleagues has been nothing short of incredible.
We would like to take the time to thank every single one of you. There has been phone calls, emails, messages and even visits, and they have meant the absolute world to us.

We would also like to take the opportunity to say an enormous thank you to 2 of the most wonderful girls….Sasha and Laura….your unwavering support over all of the past years, but particularly this year, has meant the world to us. You are both amazing 💫

As many of you would have already heard, we received the sad news today of the closure of Glengarry Private Hospital maternity unit. We are all completely devastated by this unexpected decision, but please be assured that we will do everything in our power to ensure a smooth transition of care.

Due to a number of ongoing issues, Ramsay Health Care has decided to consolidate private maternity services in Perth’s north at Joondalup Private Hospital (Joondalup Private).

This means Glengarry Private Hospital (Glengarry) will be closing our maternity service at midday on Friday 22 December 2023.

Glengarry has a proud history of providing maternity services to the local community and this decision was not taken lightly.

The decision to consolidate the two services follows a sustained shortage of on-call anaesthetists and paediatricians at Glengarry, a challenge faced by other maternity services around the country. Glengarry has also experienced a significant and prolonged reduction in births in recent years.

We understand this news may be disappointing for our patients, our people and the community, and we apologise to those impacted.

We are communicating directly with our obstetricians and expecting parents to ensure everyone is aware of their options, which include delivering at Joondalup Private Hospital (roughly a 15 minute drive from Glengarry).

We are also working with maternity staff, who will be offered the option of working at Joondalup Private Hospital or Joondalup Health Campus (public).

Glengarry Private Hospital will continue to offer its many other services and focus on delivering care that meets the needs of the Perth northern suburbs community.
