Supporting teens & young adults to thrive
Calm minds, clear focus, confident heartsđź’™

My vision is to give children and teenagers the tools to support their physical and mental health and wellbeing including a way to build self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-esteem as well as to strengthen body and mind through yoga and mindfulness.

Why Yoga for Teens?

Adolescence is a time of massive change — physically, hormonally, and emotionally. Yet our modern lifestyles don’t always support this important stage of growth.

Yoga offers a way to bring balance back.
It supports hormone regulation for both boys and girls, encourages strong bone development, improves posture, and enhances coordination, circulation, and oxygen flow throughout the body.

Just as importantly, yoga helps teens regulate their nervous system — teaching them how to shift from the body’s stress response (fight or flight) into a calm, restful state (the parasympathetic system).

In simple terms, it helps young people find their way back to calm when life feels overwhelming.

Hi, I’m Kerstin

I help teens, parents, and educators to move from overwhelm and self-doubt to calm confidence and clarity.

I work with individuals and schools to help manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, and to build calm, confidence, and connection through practical mindfulness, movement, and wellbeing tools.

With over five years of experience teaching yoga, mindfulness, and stress regulation practices—and many more years of personal practice—I’ve seen how these tools can genuinely transform daily life. As a qualified yoga and teen yoga teacher and a mum of two teenage boys, I understand how real the challenges of school, exams, and modern family life can feel.

My work includes 1:1 and family wellbeing sessions, in-school programs supporting students, teachers, and whole-school wellbeing, as well as online programs such as Calm Exam for Year 11 and 12 students. I also offer parent and teacher workshops focused on mental health and emotional resilience, and school wellbeing days designed to calm, connect, and re-energise the whole community.

If your teen, tween—or your school community—could use more calm and support, I’d love to help.

My heart is full! I had an amazing journey over the last 6 weeks with a group of year 12 students joining me for the very first Calm-Exam-Program. Thanks to Georgiana Molloy Anglican School for having me and making it possible to bring the program into school!

🌿 Today marked the final session of the Calm Exam program for our Year 12 students.
Over the past six weeks, 15 students have worked with facilitator Kerstin Woosnam from U-Yoga Mindfulness & Movement to learn practical tools for managing exam-related stress. Through breathing techniques, mindful movement, journaling, and reflection, students have built skills in focus, confidence, and resilience — supporting both their wellbeing and their studies.
A big thank you to Kerstin for guiding our students through this pilot program and creating such a calm, supportive space during this important time in their schooling journey. đź’™

The way we talk to ourselves really matters — but often it goes unnoticed. We unconsciously tell ourselves: “I’m bad at this”, “I can’t do it”, “This is too hard”, “I’m not good enough.”

On top of that, the outside world constantly tells us how we “should” be and what we “should” do. Our teens are not immune — in fact, they’re exposed to more pressure than ever before.

Here’s the good news: while we can’t fully control the outside world, we can learn to notice our own inner voice and shift the way we speak to ourselves. And our kids can learn this too — the earlier, the better.

This is something I teach in the Calm Exam program: helping teens ground, calm, and reframe their self-talk.

In the first two weeks of Calm Exam we’ve been focusing on grounding and creating a sense of inner safety — because when the body feels safe, we are able to learn and focus.

Then we moved to exploring self-talk and confidence.
That little inner voice our teens carry into exams can either make stress feel heavier (“I can’t do this”) — or help them feel steadier and more capable (“I can do hard things”).

When we guide teens to notice and shift their self-talk, confidence grows.

👉 I’ve written more about this journey — from grounding, to inner safety, to self-talk — in this week’s blog link in bio.
