Get ready for your Flu vaccine 💉

Winter is coming, which means it's time to start thinking about your flu vaccine.

Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting a flu vaccine, free for all Queenslanders aged 6 months and older until 30 September 2026.

This year, for the first time in Australia, a needle-free flu vaccine in the form of a nasal spray will also be available and free for children aged two to five years (before they turn 6). This is an easy way to protect your child.

Good hygiene behaviours like washing hands, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick can help stop the spread of the flu, but for the best protection, get vaccinated. 💪

Check with your GP, pharmacist, or vaccine provider about when the vaccine will be available for you.

The state government has confirmed it’s extending its free flu jab program for another year, which will run from March to September.

It’ll include the option of a needle-free, nasal spray vaccination, for children aged two to five years.

Health Minister Tim Nicholls says the program is intended to reduce needle distress.
