Cultivating a safe space where everyone feels a sense of belonging is a core value here at Jimbelunga and so Harmony Week was a great opportunity to celebrate our strength in diversity!

We made paper chain dolls for residents and staff to decorate and strung them around the Casuarina dining area ๐ŸŽจ

Our around the world morning tea and lunch for residents included: damper, fish with ginger and soy sauce, chips, coleslaw and bread and butter pudding ๐Ÿž ๐Ÿซš ๐ŸŸ ๐Ÿฅ— ๐Ÿฎ

Staff brought in food to share their cultures with one another and wore orange, which signifies meaningful conversations and mutual respect ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿงก๐Ÿงก

To celebrate International Womenโ€™s Day, we held a high tea for the ladies in residence, with finger sandwiches, fairy cakes and home-made caramel slice ๐Ÿง๐Ÿฅช๐Ÿซ–โ˜•๏ธ

Residents and staff were encouraged to wear purple, which has become the symbolic colour of International Women's Day, representing justice and dignity ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿชป

Lifestyle and Activities Officer Aunty Carol made lovely purple flower table decorations with residents leading up to the event.

We played music and yarned and when the song 'I am Woman' came on everyone started singing and dancing!

Good news Jimbelunga family, we've got a large generator ready to go just in case wild weather decides to take our power out this storm season ๐Ÿ”‹

We've taken this step to ensure the comfort of residents and staff, even in the most challenging circumstances and have tested the equipment out confirming a smooth transition from power cut to generator power ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

Please note that the first three car parks on your left when driving through our main entrance won't be available for parking as the generator is stationed there.
