Strong upper body = strong foundation 💪

Building upper body strength isn’t just about muscles it’s about stability, posture, and how well your body moves day to day. A strong back, shoulders, and core support everything you do. From training and sport to daily tasks like lifting, carrying, and even sitting upright.

Improving your upper body strength helps prevent injury, supports your lower back, and keeps you moving freely and confidently. Small, consistent effort each week adds up to big results in how your body feels and functions long term.

💛 Today is R U OK? Day - This is a reminder to check in with the people around us, and to let them know they don’t have to go through life’s ups and downs alone. Meaningful conversations are important in our daily lives as it can change lives!

Sometimes a simple conversation can make a world of difference. If someone you know isn’t okay, listening with compassion can be the first step in helping them feel supported.

Making sure we are checking in with the people we surround ourselves with, this can be difficult but creating the environment of a safe space for conversation of any kind is creating the atmosphere of others to know they aren’t alone and that we are here for them to listen and hear them in any time of need. Opening up can be a vulnerable experience this can open up a lot of emotions for a person that they have been bottling in.

Here are a few gentle ways you can reach out:
✨ Ask genuinely — A simple “How are you going, really?” can mean more than you know.
✨ Listen without judgement — Give them space to share what’s on their mind.
✨ Show you care — Sometimes just being there is enough.
✨ Encourage support — Suggest professional help if they need it, and remind them they’re not alone.
✨ Follow up — Check in again in the days and weeks ahead.

And if you’re not okay today, please know you don’t have to face it on your own. Reach out to someone you trust, whether thats a family member, a friend, partner, work colleague, a professional or contact:

Mobility Mondays 🧘🏽‍♀️

This week focusing on your Lumbar Spine is the foundation of your trunk. Your Lumbar spine is built for stability and support, not excessive movement. Keeping it mobile in a controlled way which helps reduce stiffness, prevent discomfort, and maintain healthy function.

The lumbar spine functions best when it can move safely, is supported by strong muscles and is regularly mobilised. Try incorporating these exercises into your routine to reduce stiffness, protect your back and feel better during daily activities! 🤸🏽

Quick Fix Fridays! 🤸🏽💙

Focusing on your Obliques this Friday. Your obliques are more than just your “side abs.” Your Obliques are a muscle in your abdominal region that are shaped and sit on your body like a corset. Training your obliques through stability, control and rotation makes your body stronger, more powerful and less injury-prone.

Try out these exercises as a warm up or cool down in your workouts or just to try out. Whether you are at home or at the gym! 👍🏽
