In light of the new Victorian Government initiative to offer the green whistle (Penthrox) for pain relief during IUD insertions, I wanted to share my experience using it in fertility care. 💚

I’ve been using Penthrox in my practice for women with vaginismus and during fertility procedures, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive -less anxiety, less pain, and more control.

This announcement is a huge win for recognising women’s pain as real and worth managing effectively. It’s time we close the gender pain gap and make compassionate, evidence-based care the norm.

🌞 Daylight saving starts this weekend!

A friendly reminder that clocks will move forward by one hour at 2 am this Sunday, 5 October 2025 for those in VIC, NSW, SA, TAS and the ACT.

There’s no change for our friends in QLD, NT or WA.

⏰ Most phones and digital devices will update automatically, but remember to adjust any manual clocks before bed on Saturday night.

For Genea Melbourne City patients with appointments on Sunday or early next week, our care team is across the time change and will remind you if your trigger injection needs to be done one hour earlier.

Fertility struggles aren’t just a women’s issue. Nearly half of all cases involve male factor infertility but it’s still rarely spoken about.

From sports injuries to lifestyle choices, there are many reasons s***m health can be affected. The important part? Getting tested early. A simple s***m test can be life-changing, and taking that step isn’t weakness, it’s strength.

Because being a man isn’t defined by s***m count. It’s about showing up with love, care and commitment. 💙

Let’s get real about the flu shot, especially if you’re trying to conceive. 💉🤍

You might’ve heard things like:
“What if it messes with my cycle?”
“Isn’t it better to avoid any meds when I’m TTC?”
“Could it harm a potential early pregnancy?”

Here’s the truth, straight from the science (and yes, I stay up to date on this stuff so you don’t have to):
✔️ The flu shot is safe if you’re trying to conceive
✔️ It does not affect ovulation, implantation, or hormone levels
✔️ In fact, it’s recommended because the flu itself can be more severe when you’re in early pregnancy (even before you know you’re pregnant!)

Your body’s doing a lot of beautiful behind-the-scenes work right now. The flu shot is one way to help protect it, not interfere with it.
Winter can be full of cozy plans, but also colds, germs, and viral nonsense. Let’s make sure that while you’re focusing on conception, you’re also staying protected. 🧣💪

I completed my final embryo transfer for the year, and it feels truly special to reflect on everything 2024 has brought. 💖
The second photo is a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do—a beautiful embryo, filled with so much hope for the future. This year, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals and couples take steps toward growing their families. Every consultation, procedure, and transfer has been a shared journey, and I’m honored to be a part of these life-changing moments. 🌱
