The Fear Paralysis Reflex is a primitive reflex present at birth. It’s the body’s automatic freeze response to sudden fear or stress.
This reflex normally integrates in the first few months of life as the nervous system matures. If it remains active, it may contribute to heightened stress responses, anxiety, sensory sensitivity, or a tendency to “freeze” under pressure.
