We're almost two weeks into 2026, and we wanted to check in with you! Whether you're crushing your goals or finding it a bit tougher than expected, remember: change takes time, and every small step counts.

Christmas is all about indulgence…
But if your bowel habits are changing, that’s not something to ignore.
🎅💩 A simple bowel cancer screening could be the most important thing you do before Christmas.
Pop in and have a chat - we promise it’s not as uncomfortable as your jeans after Christmas dinner 😉
Bowel cancer is not just an "old person's disease."
1 in 9 new cases now occurs in patients younger than 50 years old, a rising and concerning trend.
Bowel cancer, also known as colon cancer, starts in the lining of the bowel and often develops from small growths known as polyps.
Early detection is crucial, but people often feel that the symptoms are “embarrassing” to talk about, leading to missed diagnoses and spread before treatment.
So, what can we do?
🚽 Know the symptoms: blood in the stool, abdominal pain, weight loss, or fatigue are never “normal.”
💩 Start the conversation: yes, talking about poo can feel awkward, but do it anyway.
🚽 Screen early before it’s late: Australians aged 45-49 can request a free home stool test kit. https://ncsr.gov.au/request-a-free-bowel-test-kit?utm_source=ccv_microsite&utm_medium=outbound_click&utm_campaign=vicbowel2023
Under-45s should chat with their GP about their individual risk. Over 70% of Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer now have a five-year survival rate.
💩 Raise awareness: simply talking about bowel health with loved ones helps reduce stigma and could encourage someone to get their symptoms checked.

Being breast aware is vital 💗

It's important to get to know your breasts and know your normal. Being breast aware means you’re more likely to notice unusual changes over time.

You don’t need a special technique or routine. Just pay attention to how your breasts normally look and feel during everyday moments, such as when you’re showering, getting dressed, using body lotion or looking in the mirror.

🔍 What to look out for:

A lump or thickening in or near your breast
Changes in shape or size of your breast/nipple
Changes to the skin of your breast/nipple
Unusual pain in the breast area
Swelling or discomfort in the armpit

If something doesn’t feel or look right – don’t wait. While most breast changes are not caused by cancer, you should see your doctor without delay so that the changes can be checked.

- Flexible hours – at least one shift after school (3:30 PM–6:00 PM)

What you’ll do:
🧽 Keep the pharmacy clean and tidy
👋 Greet and serve customers with a smile
📦 Help with stocking shelves and general shop duties

💬 Is a good listener and communicator
💊 Has a genuine interest in healthcare
