It's so hard to know what to say to a loved one who has experienced the death of their baby. Sometimes, people say things that are meant to be comforting, but aren't, things like "It wasn't meant to be" or "You can have another baby." Or worse, they say nothing at all.

It is not possible to take a grieving parent’s pain away, though we all wish we could. Instead, simply acknowledge their baby and their great loss. Say things that validate their grief.
It can be uncomfortable, yes. However, being there in supportive ways is one of the greatest gifts you can give.

And to all those who are still waiting for their rainbow babies: keep hope 😘 whether in the form of a human baby or something else perhaps even grander; Allah does not waste the reward of those who are patient ♥️

🌈 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🌈

At Precious Wings, we pause to honour the babies who bring light after loss, and the little ones who came before them - forever loved, forever remembered.

A “𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐𝒘 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚” is the precious child born after the heartbreaking loss of another. Just like a rainbow after a storm, they carry both hope and healing, while never replacing the deep love for the baby who is no longer here.

For many families, today brings both joy and sorrow. We celebrate the rainbow babies held in our arms, while also holding close the babies we carry in our hearts. 💜

We know not every parent feels connected to the term “rainbow baby,” and at Precious Wings we honour all journeys. Every story of grief, love, and new beginnings is unique and valid.

New Australian guidelines for miscarriage and early pregnancy loss released

In short:
New national guidelines for the treatment of early pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy, have been published.

The guidelines include an updated definition of recurrent miscarriage, which is now defined as two non-consecutive miscarriages.

What's next?
Experts say improved data collection and medical research will help to improve understanding of early pregnancy loss and support for those affected.

I am a mother. I am a bereaved mother. My child died, and this is my reluctant path. It is not a path of my choice, but it is a path I must walk mindfully and with intention. It is a journey through the darkest night of my soul, and it will take time to wind through the places that scare me.
