We often hear from clients asking to see our most experienced Senior Psychologists, and we get it. Our senior team members are absolutely outstanding clinicians 🤩

But at My Psych Clinic, our Clinical Psychology Registrars typically achieve client outcomes just as strong as their senior counterparts. Let’s explore why:

✅ High-frequency supervision. Clinical Psychology Registrars work within a training pathway that demands more supervision and professional development hours than fully endorsed psychologists. Cases are reviewed and guided by a board-approved (often senior) psychologist or discussed in group supervision sessions. This means clients benefits from dual expertise.

✅ High professional development hours. Registrars are immersed in the latest research, evidence-based treatments, and professional development. They’re trained to think critically, adapt fast, and apply modern, evidence-informed techniques.

✅ Motivation. These psychologists are driven. They’re building their careers with intention, investing extraordinary time and care into client journeys, often going above and beyond.

The proof is in the (Data) pudding.

We don’t just hope our clients do well, we measure it. Using NovoPsych, we track clinical outcomes across our team, and the results are clear:

📊 Our Registrars routinely achieve clinical outcomes on par with senior psychologists.

While experience is invaluable, supervision, drive, and up-to-date knowledge make a powerful combo. If you're matched with a Clinical Psychology Registrar, it’s likely you're in capable hands.

Looking to sharpen your clinical skills or meet your registrar requirements? 🎓

Clinical Supervision is a structured, formal process designed to help ensure that psychological services meet high standards of ethical practice and clinical effectiveness.

For those completing a professional program, such as a registrar program, your supervision needs to be delivered by a Board-Approved Supervisor, a mark of training and experience required by the Psychology Board of Australia. We are proud to have EIGHT Board-Approved Supervisors on the My Psych Clinic team, offering diverse knowledge and support.

Clinical supervision benefits both psychologists and clients:

👉Professional growth: Psychologists receive direct guidance on complex cases and ethical dilemmas; ensures continuous skill development and integration of contemporary clinical practice.

👍Clients receives treatment from a psychologist who is staying current with strategies based on recent scientific evidence and professional ethics.

👉Provides a space for psychologists to prevent burnout and ensures adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Supervision is a key element in our quality assurance programs, which is designed to support our practitioners in developing their skills, improving clinical practice, and promoting efficient, effective functioning. Using these frameworks, My Psych Clinic aims that every psychologist is best placed to deliver ethical care to clients.

Are you looking for a supervisor? Check out our clinicians' profiles on our website or on Benchmark Psychology's Find a Supervisor page.
