Ever wonder why one shoulder, one side of your neck, or even one hip feels tighter than the other?
Sometimes it is not from one big event. It is from the small things your body does every day without you even noticing.
Like carrying a bag on one shoulder.
To stop the strap from slipping, that shoulder often lifts and braces. Then the rest of the body starts adjusting around it. The neck joins in. The head can subtly shift. The ribs and waist may grip. The pelvis and hips adapt underneath to keep you balanced.
And here is the interesting part: even after the bag comes off, your body may still hold that shoulder a little higher because your brain has repeated the pattern so often it starts to read it as normal.
Not because your body is doing something wrong. Just because it is very good at adapting.
This is exactly what we work with in Somatic Movement.
Rather than forcing posture, we slow down and notice the unconscious patterns your body has been holding onto, so it can begin to let go of the tension it no longer needs.
That is how you create more ease.
And if you’d like to start unwinding patterns like this in your own body, my 3-Week Somatic Reset is a beautiful place to begin.
