Should you trust Western/Modern Medical Profession, Diagnosis; Or Should You Question?
It’s been a week of confirmations for me that Western Medical practitioners can foster a mindset in a large amount of cases that they know everything. Is this called ego or the mightier than God Syndrome? Further they do not need to listen to their patient experiences evidence of circumstances leading to the patient’s current condition. It appears that unlike Traditional Chinese Medicine they do not use an approach that considers all aspects of health and contribution to an outcome/condition for their patients.
I can site one case of personal misdiagnosis for a family member. The Family Member had eaten a vegan burger she had purchased from the supermarket and did not where her glasses while preparing it for an evening meal. She did not notice the white mould spots on the burger.
When she ate the burger, she had a fowl taste in her mouth and a sharp pricking feeling at the very back of her hard pallet. She took immediate action and rushed out to the kitchen to spit the burger out and washed her mouth out. She did not find anything sharp emanating from the matter she had dispelled from her mouth. She went to the fridge and took the burger packet out. On examination she found round white mould spots on the other burgers.
Closely following the burger incident, she had a one and a half centre metre blood blister appear very quickly in her mouth. A little panic ensued and she went to the local accident and emergency DPT. She told the preceding indicators to the medical staff who asked if she was on aspirin or blood thinners. She replied no she was on no such medication. She felt they treated her a little like she was worried about nothing. Further that she was neurotic and did not know what she was talking about. She was sent home with no treatment. The diagnosis was that it was an ulcer.
The blood blister burst and reformed as a white raised infection radiating tentacles of infection through her mouth and throat. She got low level headaches and aching in her throat and ears and a feeling of general unwellness. She puzzled at the ulcer thinking she had ulcers before but never one like this.
The following Monday she made contact with her GP. The GP was busy and she attended another who also said the infection was an ulcer. The GP prescribed a very dangerous anti biotic for 10 days and a topical cream. The anti-biotic and cream appeared to alleviate the infection a little however the infection appeared to simmer for the next 3 weeks with a red and swollen throat and headaches and general aches in the affected areas and a feeling of unwellness.
In the following days the Family member, (TFM), attended her GP for another reason and while there she asked the Dr to check her throat and provided photographic evidence of the raised irritation/reaction to for the G.P. who frowned and said well your throat is still swollen but should be better following the use of the medication. No further follow up was provided.
Then 3 weeks later an even larger red blood blister appeared in her mouth. TFM again panicked. She had looked on the internet about the dangers of ingesting mould in any way. They were grave and could cause a numerous percentage of fatal lung, heart, cancers, etc, conditions. Well the darn thing had come up in the night again, it was at least two and a half centre meters across on the second presentation. TFM attended the emergency DPT at the hospital again she saw one G.P. who offered no treatment and the same diagnosis. He told TFM she should attend her G.P. the following week and ask the G.P. to refer her for blood tests to find what the problem was.
By the time she got home TFM looked at the blister which had burst and turned black. TFM was very worried. The next morning the infection was again White raised and radiating infection throughout her very red sore mouth and throat, she again had the headaches and this time the aching was a little more severe. Concerned she went back to the emergency DPT. A different GP, advised again the infection was an ulcer. No treatment was offered a swab was taken and blood tests requested by the GP.
TFM visited her GP on the Monday following the weekend. The swab and blood test results had been sent to the GP showing no detectable infections. By this time, TFM was desperate worrying about the possibilities of any of the conditions she had found on the internet related to infection of mould in the body. She told the GP she had looked on the internet and it was her own opinion that she in fact had a mould infection in her throat and pleaded with the GP to prescribe a treatment that would alleviate such a problem as mould infection. The treatment was prescribed and even the GP admitted that no one had listened to TFM’s account of how the infection had come about. TFM thanked the GP for listening. The GP elaborated that she had seen such situations before when medical staff had not listened to patients and this had caused significant illness and death in some cases. TFM agreed saying that she herself had nearly died through and inadequate diagnosis by a GP in the past.
After initiating the use of the G.P. prescribed medication, TFM is now recovering from the infection. There remains a little spot that for all intensive purposes looks like a small circle of mould. She intends to continue taking the treatment until 2 full days after the spot has disappeared as per direction on the treatment information to ensure the irradiation of the mould from her mouth.
I think TFM has every reason not to trust the diagnosis of the apparently egotistically challenged Western Medical Profession, don’t you?
And then we hear the story about the little child who was sent home with a broken neck! Please refer the link below. Copied from the internet, read the story. This little girl could suffer permanent damage!

So, people, parents and patients don’t know anything ha?
Isn’t it about time the western medical profession learned to consider the opinions of patients, their carer’s and loved ones and indications of pain?
Think out side their little box, maybe?
