How many spoons do you have today? 🥄
🥄 “How Many Spoons Do You Have Today?” 🩵
There’s a story I want to tell you…
Not about illness.
Not about diagnosis.
But about something we all feel… and often don’t have words for.
Imagine you wake up in the morning.
On your bedside table…
there’s a small pile of spoons.
🥄🥄🥄🥄🥄
That’s what you have for the day.
Each spoon represents energy.
Not just physical energy…
but emotional, mental, and nervous system energy too.
For some people,
they wake up with an entire drawer full.
They can get up, rush through the day, skip meals, push through stress…
and still have spoons left over.
But for others…
They wake up with just a handful.
🥄 Getting out of bed takes a spoon
🥄 Showering takes a spoon
🥄 Getting dressed takes a spoon
🥄 Driving, working, thinking, coping… each takes another
And suddenly…
before the day has even really begun…
The spoons are gone.
Now here’s the part people don’t see.
When your body is dealing with something like lymphatic congestion, inflammation, or chronic swelling…
It is already using spoons behind the scenes.
Quietly. Constantly.
Trying to move fluid.
Trying to clear waste.
Trying to regulate inflammation.
Trying to keep you functioning.
So when someone says:
“Why are you so tired?”
“Just push through”
“Try harder”
They don’t see that your body has already spent
half your spoons before you even opened your eyes.
🩵 And this is where the shift comes in…
What if your healing is not about doing more…
But about learning how to spend your spoons differently?
Maybe today looks like:
✨ Choosing rest without guilt
✨ Nourishing your body instead of restricting it
✨ Supporting your lymph, not forcing it
✨ Listening… instead of pushing
Because your body is not failing you.
It is working with what it has.
And every time you choose to support it…
instead of fight it…
You’re not losing strength.
You’re rebuilding it.
🌿 So I’ll ask you… gently
How many spoons do you have today? 🥄
And more importantly…
How can you use them in a way that
honours your body… instead of exhausting it? 🩵🦋
