It was awesome catching up last weekend with my good friend and mentor Andrew Nealon.

I had the privilege of working under Andrew during my time with the Central Coast Mariners, and no physio has had a bigger impact on my skills, knowledge, and professional growth than he did.

Andrew’s mentorship shaped the way I think, treat, and lead — and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities and wisdom he shared.

It was great to reconnect at the course this weekend, swap ideas, and reflect on how much those early lessons still guide the way I practice today.

Here’s to the mentors who raise the bar and keep inspiring the next generation of physios. 🙏

Today is a special day for we physios - although it was a typical busy Monday doing our best to help our patients get back to their best. We love what we do and are happy to help as many people as we can.

Thanks to 2 of our fantastic physio student sports trainers Jack Johnston and Ben Ralphs for their efforts this season. Yesterday they were working for opposing teams in the AFL Men's Plate semi-final with Wyong Lakes Australian Football Club Inc. and Terrigal-Avoca Panthers. Jack's team got the chocolates with our physio David Murphy in the team and are off to the GF next weekend.
Ben and our physio Rory Mackintosh will be with the Terrigal-Avoca Men's Cup team at the 1st Grade GF.
There will be plenty of Aspire at the Big Dances next week. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks to the Physiotherapy Department of University of Newcastle for asking me to speak to their final year students. We talked about planning for life in the real world, what they need to consider and know when deciding how and where they would like to work and what awaits them. I hope that they enjoy their own amazing journey in our great profession and enjoy the satisfaction of helping their patients back to their best for a long time to come.

Congrats to our physio Joe Taylor, playing a key role in Terrigal Trojans 1st Grade Rugby Grand Final Victory on Saturday night. Joe was supported by a few of his Aspire team mates as well. We loved seeing Joe's leadership and domination of the ruck - and now we understand why he is sometimes a bit sore on Mondays! Great to see his hard work and dedication pay off with success for his team. Well played Joe!

It feels like it was yesterday that Aspire was born as a hobby at home.
It was 2017 when Aspire started to become a full time practice.
It was 2018 when our team started to grow.
It was 2022 when Aspire grew up and left home.
Today, 4th July - Aspire's Independence Day- is our 3rd birthday in our own premises at Erina.
We're now a happy and proud team of 17 people that love what we do for our clients... 6 at the Front Desk, 2 Exercise Physiologists, 9 Physiotherapists.
We're much better at our jobs than driving go karts, lawn bowls, 10 pin bowling etc.
But we give that a good crack too and it was great fun to have our team and families together again last week. Smiles tell a story. It wasn't so good for the go karts though.
Need to be your best. You deserve it. Let us help you.

Thanks to the Erina Podiatry crew for the invitation to come and present to you today so we could share our skills and experience to benefit patients with Chronic Ankle Instability.
The pain and problems that this causes are often the result of typical ankle sprains earlier in life, and can often be prevented when the initial injuries are properly rehabilitated.
A simple ankle sprain might not stop someone doing what they love for very long, but studies show that up to 75% of people will sprain their ankle at least once more, and up to 70% of people develop long term problems arising from their initial injury. So the odds are much higher that you will have further problems than you won't.
Because it's so common, we see this all the time. And because we see it all the time, we've become pretty good at helping people with it.
Don't put up with an ankle that is just ok, or sore, or slowing you down in life or on the sporting field. Get it sorted. Be your best.
