Valentine’s Day doesn’t look the same for everyone — and it doesn’t have to be about romance at all.

This February 14, we’re reframing love as care, compassion, and support — especially toward yourself. Taking your mental health seriously, asking for help, or simply resting when you need it are all acts of self-love.

You deserve care, today and every day.

Thinking about TMS is often a sign that you’re looking for something different — especially if other treatments haven’t brought the relief you hoped for.

TMS is a non-invasive treatment that works by gently stimulating specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. There’s no surgery, no anesthesia, and sessions are done while you’re awake and comfortable.

TMS can be used to treat many mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.

If you’re curious, chat to your GP, or call us at (02) 4314 7000 to find out more. Asking questions and exploring your options is part of taking care of your mental health — and you don’t have to do it alone.

February doesn’t have to come with fresh goals or a perfect reset. Sometimes, it’s simply a moment to pause and notice how you’re really feeling.

If January felt heavy, overwhelming, or not at all what you hoped for — that’s okay. Mental health isn’t linear, and every month brings its own challenges.

Wherever you’re at right now, your experience is valid. Checking in with yourself is a powerful first step, and the team at TMS are here to support you throughout your journey.

Feeling a bit nervous before your TMS session? Our therapy pups are here to help.

Arrive a little early and you’re welcome to spend a few minutes with our resident cuddle experts. Patting animals has been shown to lower stress hormones, slow the heart rate, and increase feel-good chemicals like oxytocin - all of which can help you feel more at ease before treatment.

Plus, they're pretty cute 😉😍

If you’ve tried several antidepressants or rounds of therapy without finding relief, you may have what’s known as treatment-resistant depression (TRD).

This simply means your brain may need a different type of support.

That’s where TMS can help. By stimulating areas of the brain involved in mood regulation, TMS offers a safe, non-invasive alternative when traditional options haven’t been enough.

Every brain is different. Call (02) 4314 7000 to find out more about TMS as a treatment option.

So how does TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) actually work? 🤔

TMS delivers gentle magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain that play a role in mood regulation. These pulses help “re-activate” underactive neural pathways, supporting better communication between brain cells.

In simpler terms: TMS helps your brain get back into balance.

Non-invasive. No medication changes. No downtime.

TMS is being embraced worldwide as an evidence-based, mainstream treatment for depression - and it’s easy to see why.

✨ Clinical studies show strong results, even in cases of treatment-resistant depression.
✨ Innovations like AI-guided protocols and improved coil design are making treatment more precise and comfortable than ever.
✨ It’s covered by major health systems internationally - and bulk-billed through Medicare here in Australia

In fact, Australia has been a pioneer in TMS research and has offered it for over two decades.

So for anyone considering alternative options for depression, this global growth reinforces what research has been saying for decades: TMS is safe, effective, and here to stay.

While TMS is best known for treating depression, it’s also showing benefits for other mental health conditions such as anxiety, OCD, and PTSD.

By targeting different regions of the brain, TMS can help calm overactive networks linked to stress and repetitive thoughts.

If you’ve been living with these conditions and haven’t found relief through traditional treatments, it may be worth asking your doctor about TMS.
