A sweet wildlife surprise at Pine Needles! 🐦
As most of you would know by now, one of our residents, Bruce Ward-Smith, is a keen bird watcher and recently captured something quite special in a neighbour’s garden.
Just when he thought the local rails had moved on, they made a surprise appearance — with five tiny, fluffy black chicks following closely behind! 💛
Bruce mentioned that he is hoping to spot them again as the little ones grow.
He also said it's quite unusual to see these birds here in the village gardens. They’re more commonly found in reed beds near water, such as dams, lakes or creeks — which makes this sighting extra special.
Nature always finds a way to delight us here 🌿
