What is MyHealth Record
My Health Record is a secure, online summary of your key health information, available to all Australians with a Medicare card or Individual Healthcare Identifier. It consolidates information from doctors, hospitals, and Medicare, including vaccinations, pathology results, prescription records, and hospital discharge summaries, allowing authorized healthcare providers to access vital data anytime, especially in emergencies.
Key Information Available in My Health Record
Clinical Documents: Shared health summaries, event summaries, hospital discharge summaries, specialist letters, and e-referrals.
Medications: A list of prescriptions and dispensed medicines, including adverse reactions or allergies.
Test and Scan Reports: Pathology reports and diagnostic imaging reports (e.g., X-rays, CT scans).
Immunisations: A history of vaccinations.
Medicare Data: Information from Medicare, such as Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) claims, plus organ donor information.
Consumer-Entered Data: You can add personal health notes, emergency contact details, and advance care planning documents.
Control and Access
You control your record, including what information is stored and who can access it. It can be accessed through 1800Medicare App. While most Australians have a record, individuals can opt out or deactivate it at any time.
