It's one of the most common questions we get. And the honest answer is: it depends.

But there are clear signs that treatment is working, and clear signs that something needs to change.

Dry needling is a Western clinical technique used by physiotherapists to treat muscle pain and trigger points (the tight, irritable spots in muscle tissue that refer pain and restrict movement). When the needle hits the trigger point, the muscle releases.

It's one tool among many, and your physio will always explain when and why it's appropriate.

Dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems are often dismissed or misdiagnosed. They shouldn't be.

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialist area, and most people respond well to the right treatment.

Your first appointment isn't just about the pain you came in with.

We take time to understand your history, assess how your body is moving, and build a plan that's specific to you. That's how treatment works properly.

Pain that moves around is confusing.

Your shoulder hurts, then suddenly it's your neck. The neck settles, now it's your upper back. Nothing stays in one place long enough to figure out what's actually wrong.

This pattern tells us something important.

Moving pain often signals compensation rather than damage in multiple areas.

This is why treating each painful spot individually doesn't work long-term with the pain seemingly 'relocating'.

Effective treatment identifies the original restriction or weakness driving the pattern. Once that's addressed, the compensation stops, and the moving pain settles.

If your pain keeps 'moving', that's your cue to get properly assessed rather than chasing symptoms around your body.

Not all headaches come from your head.

Cervicogenic headaches originate in your neck, but the pain is felt in your head. Around your temples, behind your eyes, or at the base of your skull.

And if your headaches are coming from your neck, treating them as migraines won't help.

Physiotherapy addresses the cervical spine dysfunction driving the pattern. Manual therapy, targeted exercises, posture modification.

If your headaches come with neck pain or get worse with certain positions, it's worth getting assessed by one of our expert physiotherapists.

Shoulder pain isn't just for athletes.

Office workers develop shoulder problems all the time. Think about all your hours reaching for your mouse, arms unsupported, shoulders rounded forward. It adds up.

Common signs include:
- Upper trap tension that won't quit
- Pain with overhead movements outside work
- Stiffness first thing in the morning

If it's already bothering you, get it assessed. Our expert physiotherapists will identify what's driving it and sort out both the tissue issues and the setup contributing to them.
