Hypnotherapy is a holistic practice that focuses on creating a safe and supportive space, which can help in managing anxiety and the conditions that often accompany it.

Rather than only addressing symptoms, hypnotherapy works by exploring the underlying causes of anxiety, helping you develop skills to manage the symptoms of anxiety more effectively in the long term.

By gently uncovering and working through these root causes in a safe environment, clients can develop new ways to approach their worries and fears, helping to reduce the impact they have on their lives.

Hypnotherapy can be beneficial in offering lasting relief from anxiety without relying on medication. It can also support people in developing practical coping skills such as deep breathing and guided visualisation techniques to manage symptoms as they arise.

Remedial massage and myotherapy are two common practices that use hands-on techniques to help alleviate discomfort and support overall wellbeing. However, they differ in both scope and approach.

A key distinction begins with the initial assessment process.

Myotherapists conduct a thorough assessment that may include muscle and joint tests to better understand the underlying cause of the symptoms you are experiencing.

In contrast, a remedial massage therapist generally focuses on the areas where you’re experiencing pain or tension.

Although both practices involve hands-on soft tissue techniques, myotherapists might incorporate a wider range of techniques into their practice, such as dry needling, cupping or corrective exercises.

Myotherapy aims to improve movement and mobility by managing specific musculoskeletal conditions, while remedial massage generally supports relaxation and relieves muscular tension.

Learn more about which practice could benefit you on our blog.

You can also call us on (03) 9337 8572 to book an appointment with our qualified practitioners who can guide you on which approach might best suit you.

Did you know that we commonly use cupping at Essendon Natural Health?

Used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine, cupping is a gentle and natural healing technique that involves placing suction cups on the skin to improve circulation and release muscle tension.

There are different forms of cupping therapy, including wet, dry and moving cupping that can help support health concerns such as muscular pain, inflammation, poor circulation and stress.

The pressure used during treatment can be easily adjusted to suit your comfort level, making it a gentle and relaxing form of natural healing.

Cupping can also have benefits for concerns such as respiratory issues, digestive discomfort and fatigue.
