If you're struggling with Xmas gifts for those you love who may have everything, a massage voucher might be the ideal gift.
Remedial massage is not only a great reward for a family member or friend who has been working hard, but an enjoyable experience that can start the journey of better health and managing stress more effectively.
You can purchase a massage voucher over the phone and we can email it to you, or you can pick one up at the clinic.
Angela has been settling in well since she started on October 2nd, and we have been getting great feedback about her services. She now has all her provider numbers for claiming private health rebates.
Why not use your rebates before they expire at the end of the year?
Angela is working on the 22nd and 24th of December, as well as Monday 29th.
The clinic will be closed on Wednesday December 31st.

The straw that broke the camel's back - Could this be you?

It’s a common story in general, but particularly relevant this time of year. One minute, you’re feeling fine and pain free, then you do something quite innocuous — you bend over to pick up a piece of clothing, you turn your head too fast, you reach for something on a high shelf prepping for Xmas — and next minute, your body just goes on you! Suddenly, you feel pain, spasm, and can’t move properly and you think to yourself, “why did I do that!?”

But was it really this small movement that injured you? The truth is usually more complicated than that.

When we probe deeper into why the injury happened, there are always warning signs. These are the signs that the load and strain on the body have been building up for a long time… Tight spots, discomfort, and niggles that have been ignored… But when the build up in the body gets too much, even a small incident can result in significant pain and injury.
Stress and anxiety can add to this load, and other distractions that keep you from your usual routine of self care and exercise. Xmas prep and social engagements ares examples of these.
Could your body be about to buckle under a heavy load? Don’t wait for the last straw to break you! A check-in with your physio can make all the difference.

You’ve rested. You’ve tried treatment. But the pain is still there. So what’s going on?
Pain isn’t always about injury, it’s about how your brain processes signals. If you’re stuck in a pain cycle, here’s what to consider:
✔️ Pain ≠ Damage: Just because it hurts doesn’t mean something is broken.
✔️ Scans Don’t Tell the Full Story:Many people have ‘abnormal’ findings but no pain.
✔️ Your Brain is Protecting You: Pain is a warning system, but if it gets stuck in ‘alarm mode,’ it can keep sending pain signals unnecessarily.
✔️ Movement is Key: Avoiding activity can make things worse. The right approach helps retrain your brain to feel safe moving again.
If your pain isn’t improving, it might be time to shift your focus. Understanding how your brain influences pain could be the missing piece!
Let’s help you understand and manage pain the right way.

You don't want to miss this bus...you've earnt a seat on it... it's the Private Health Insurance Rebate Bus! It's leaving very soon... and you will lose any of your unused health benefits for this year if you don't claim your seat... what a waste!

Chronic pain doesn’t have to control your life. Here’s how to start treating nerve pain without costly devices or unnecessary investigations:

1. Clear Nerve Tension First
Overlooked nerve tension often leads to pain that never fully resolves.
Treat it, and you'll see faster progress.

2. Don’t Rely Too Much on Scans
Scans don’t always show the cause of pain.
A clinical assessment is key to effective treatment.

3. Avoid Surgery When Possible
Conservative treatments often work just as well as surgery.
Explore your options first.

4. Pain ≠ Damage
Pain is the brain’s early warning system, not always a sign of injury. Keep moving!

5. Stay Active
Giving up activities you love can lead to more pain.
Movement and a positive mindset are vital for recovery.

6. Structured Exercise Is Essential
A tailored exercise plan is crucial for preventing pain from returning.

🍪 Don’t Be just Another Cookie! 🍪
When it comes to your health, a one-size-fits-all approach just doesn’t work.
Check out Mrs B’s story which shows that pain on the right side may have its roots elsewhere—in her case, an old plantar fasciitis issue on the left. With a whole-body perspective, we diagnosed the real source, relieved her pain, and got her back to an active lifestyle again. This shows that an MRI isn’t always the whole picture.
Let’s keep in mind that people with the same symptoms may have totally different primary sources of their pain.

So skip the cookie-cutter solutions. Your body deserves an individualised approach.
