Medicine can come in many forms. A recent diagnosis of low iron stores has lead me to consciously increase my iron intake from all sources. Pate is a particularly rich source as it’s usually made from chicken liver and animals (including humans)store iron in their livers.
This is the first pate I’ve made in years and I’m really happy I put the effort in to doing it. It was easy in the end as I used a simple recipe of onion, garlic, bay leaves, brandy, a LOT of butter, and of course, chicken livers.
Sourcing organ liver or pate is important as the liver is a detoxifying organ and can contain many unwanted chemicals and pollutants.

I’m moving!

After nearly 12 wonderful years at Fairfield Osteopathic Clinic, I am moving down the road to Suite 2/27 Railway Place, Fairfield where I will be sharing a clinic space with some naturopaths I have admired for years. So it’s very exciting!

The clinic is located opposite Fairfield train station and entrance is through the blue gate.

It is a lovely warm inviting clinic space with a full nutritional and herbal dispensary.

My first day in clinic is the 8th of May and hours will be alternate Saturdays 9:30 - 2:30pm and Thursday afternoons 2 - 5:30pm.

I’m really looking forward to this new chapter for Harvest Health Naturopathy and to welcoming you to this lovely new clinic space.

Banana, pepita and oat pancakes. Recipe is from my friend and fellow naturopath Sandra Villella at foundation. These are a step up from the classic mashed banana and egg pancakes as they also contain ground oats, pepitas and almonds, giving them a heartier, nuttier texture and taste. Tofu scramble for breakfast. Sauté an onion until soft. Add a teaspoon of turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Add crumbled firm tofu. I added tomato, silver beet and parsley. High in protein, phytoestrogens and antioxidants. Also yum.

I simply simmered what veggies I had in water, added cubes of tofu and seaweed flakes before mixing in the miso paste at the end
