Nora is a yoga teacher and counsellor originally from Hungary, now based in Melbourne. Her journey has been shaped by life in Italy and a deep, lifelong connection to yoga, introduced to her by her grandmother.
After a challenging postpartum period, yoga became a space of healing and self-trust for Nora, but it was her sister, also a yoga teacher, who made the difference. Her sisterβs care and presence created a safe, supportive space that helped Nora reconnect with her body and emotions. This experience showed her the true power of yoga when itβs offered with empathy.
With a background in counselling, Nora brings that same presence to her classes, creating space for students to move and feel at their own pace. She believes yoga is more than physical movement; itβs the energy and intention of the teacher that allows it to become a path to wellbeing. Get to know Nora, aka .human.yoga, a bit better below...
1. What do you carry from your counselling studies into your classes?οΏ½
One of the most eye-opening things Iβve learned is that most people donβt listen to understand β they listen to reply. I realised I often did this too. Now, I try to truly listen, before, during, and after class, so I can offer a practice that meets people where they are. Itβs a way of being present, open, and attuned, with my students and with myself as a teacher.
2. What do people often get wrong about you?
Iβm 38, but Iβve often been told I βseem younger.β I think itβs less about how I look and more about how Iβve learned to speak, move, and behave, because society rewards women for being sweet, not serious.
