Settled into Railway Place since 2023, Brahma Kumaris Fairfield is Melbourne's latest oasis of peace. FREE courses and presentations every month. Come visit us!
Special Sundays Recharge Meditation every week. World Meditation Hour 3rd Sunday every month. After 40 years in the Bohemian suburb of Fitzroy we have moved just 10 minutes away to the serene, leafy village of Fairfield where we are surrounded by coffee shops, eateries, a beautiful park with Heritage amphitheatre, and a boathouse. It is known for its diverse and vibrant community. It’s just 6kms from the Melbourne CBD and is directly across the road from Fairfield Train Station – the Hurstbridge line; the No. 11 Tram down Brunswick Street stops at Westgarth Street, a short few steps from the Westgarth Train Station, which is two stops from Fairfield; there are also 6 bus routes that pass through. For those seeking meaning in life and answers to life’s ‘big questions’, our unique calm environment, with experienced meditation tutors, is a great place to learn practical meditation and positive living techniques to help you lead a meaningful and empowered life. We continue to offer The Brahma Kumaris’ core curriculum courses in Raja Yoga Meditation in English, Hindi, Tamil and Punjabi. Weekly inspirational classes will resume, as well as World Meditation Hour which is a favourite, held on the third Sunday of each month. There will be many more community events. The centre is run by volunteers and all activities are offered without charge as a community service. Donations are welcomed to help in covering costs. We look forward to seeing old faces and new as we grow into our new environment.

Remembrance is how we remain connected to those people and events that shaped our lives and the world. To forget is to lose something - sometimes that can be a good thing, but sometimes it lessens us. Choose to remember the people and events that gave and still give us value.
Blessings 💜❤️

Trust & non-violent communication 🤝💜💬
Wed 12 November, 7pm
Can we live without trust? We cannot even cross the road without it! Yet at some point in our lives, so many of us have decided to give up on trust. How can we maintain trust with ease and lightness in a world of falsehood? How can we communicate in a non-violent way to develop more trust?
Facilitator: Maureen Chen, author of Mystic at the Edge, has taught Raja Yoga Meditation and facilitated Nonviolent Communication workshops in prisons, companies, schools and organisations all over the world. She has been practising and teaching meditation with the Brahma Kumaris for 46 years.

In Gentleness is Strength 🌱
"The theory of evolution says that the strongest survives!
Yes, and the strongest, in the existence of any social species, are those who are most social. In human terms, most ethical...
There is no strength to be gained from hurting one another. Only weakness." – Ursula K. Le Guin

“Just when you think it can't get any worse, it can. 🌧 And just when you think it can't get any better, it can.” 🌈 – Nicholas Sparks
These fluctuations in fortune are part of our journey, the ups and downs of life, the tragedies and triumphs. Life flows and undulates like a great ocean, always moving with swells and calm, eddies and surges, back and forth, never ending.
Never allow hopelessness to take you over, because change is inevitable. All Life asks of us is engagement suited to the time.💗

The Brahma Kumaris is a world-wide not-for-profit NGO, acknowledging the intrinsic goodness, value and beauty of all people. A worldwide family of individuals from all walks of life, we are committed to personal transformation and spiritual growth, believing this essential to the creation of a peaceful and just world. We work for positive change at all levels of society, through a variety of courses, seminars, conferences, outreach and residential programs, raising awareness of the power of thought and its practical application to enhance the spiritual dimension of life.
The BKs have had a presence in Australia since 1975. There are 8 other teaching locations throughout Melbourne and a beautiful residential retreat centre on the Mornington Peninsula.
This Fitzroy Centre was the first building purchased in Australia by the organisation, in 1983, and is in a perfect location to reach the multitude of souls from all over the world who pass up and down the very popular tourist precinct of Brunswick Street. It has a shop front, which houses a bookstore and a Quiet Room, where people can enjoy time in peace and meditation. Volunteer meditators teach the Foundation Course in Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation, as well as Positive Thinking Courses, running seven separate FREE courses every month – day, evening and weekend – as well as teaching individuals or smaller groups by arrangement, currently in English, Hindi, and French. In addition, there are special events and presentations, such as the regular Wednesday evening talk on a variety of topics with many inspiring presenters.
All programmes and events are free of charge, although donations are welcome to support the running of the centre.
