🧦 World Down Syndrome Day – 21 March

Today is World Down Syndrome Day. This is a day to celebrate inclusion, advocacy and the incredible strengths of people with Down syndrome.

You might see lots of colourful, mismatched socks today. They symbolise uniqueness and remind us that being different is something to celebrate.

At Midway, we are proud to support individuals to live independently, build skills, form connections and achieve their personal goals.

Inclusion starts with acceptance and grows through opportunity. 💛

The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest was a fantastic weekend, and Midway participants and staff had an absolute ball soaking up the atmosphere! 🦀☀️ From great food and entertainment to plenty of laughs along the way, it was wonderful to see everyone out enjoying such a vibrant community event.

A big thank you to the City of Mandurah and all those involved in organising the festival. Events like this bring the community together and create opportunities for everyone to be part of the fun. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

We’re excited to officially welcome Lisa Saunders to the Customised Employment team as a Customised Employment and Mentoring Coordinator.

Lisa brings a wealth of life experience, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for helping people succeed. After spending much of her post-school years travelling the world (and even getting married in Vegas by Elvis! 🎤💍), Lisa has built a strong connection with the Peel community.

Lisa has already been part of the Midway family for the past four years, and we’re thrilled to see her step into this role where she will support people to find and maintain meaningful employment.
