These services include accommodation, respite support, social enterprises, and alternatives to employment/post-school.

🌱 Green thumbs in action! 🌽🎃🌿
Michael and Marc have been hard at work building a fabulous vegie patch, and it’s safe to say their efforts are seriously paying off. What started as a patch of dirt has now burst into life with corn shooting up, pumpkins settling in for a good grow, and snow peas climbing high!
There’s something pretty special about watching something you’ve built flourish….especially when it’s this tasty.
Here’s to fresh produce, teamwork, and two blokes who clearly have green thumbs. 🌾💚

Dance & Drumming will be taking a short break, with tomorrow being the last session for 2 weeks.

🌍✨ 10 December — International Human Rights Day ✨🌍
Today, we join the global community in recognising International Human Rights Day. A reminder that dignity, equality, and fairness aren’t optional extras… they are universal rights.
But here’s an important piece of the story:
While the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted on this day in 1948, it wasn’t until 2008 that the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) came into force.
That’s right — it took 60 years for people with disability to have a dedicated global agreement protecting their rights to inclusion, participation, autonomy, and freedom from discrimination.
At Midway, this day reinforces why we do what we do. Human rights aren’t abstract concepts for textbooks. They show up in everyday moments: choice, respect, safety, voice, independence, and the ability to live a life that feels meaningful.
Today we reflect, celebrate progress, and acknowledge the work still ahead to ensure every person’s rights are upheld and championed.
Human rights belong to everyone. No exceptions.

Wednesday is International Day of People with Disability and this year we are taking part in City of Mandurah's event at ManPAC from 9:30am - 12pm. You will find us operating the Chill Out Zone, so come along and say hello. There will be lots of fun activities to get involved with, including a photobooth, art & craft stalls, a giant colouring in and an art exhibition.

Midway Community Care (Midway) has been providing support services to individuals with a disability in the Peel Region for over 25 years. These services include accommodation, respite brokerage support, alternatives to employment/post school options, residential respite & family support.
First incorporated in December 1987, by a small group of parents concerned with a lack of services in the Peel Region. Midway was the first in the district to offer a range of services for people with a disability and their families.
Midway focuses on the provision of high quality individualised services. Midway has actively lobbied for an increased variety of services within the Peel Region in order to ensure that there is a broad range of choice for people with a disability.
Fully committed to a strong set of values, their underlying philosophy and ideology, Midway is continuing to operate under a number of tenets adopted by the board and members back in 1989 as follows:
Midway adopted the ideology that recognises the importance of mutual relationships and all people have much to give as well as receive in such a relationship.
Midway has developed into an effective organisation with a highly individualised approach to providing high quality, personalised services.
Midway recognises the need for partnership between all levels of Government, the local community and businesses to enable the provision of high quality support services for people with a disability.
Midway is committed to ensure that people with a disability and their families are involved in all aspects of the management and planning of their own services and Midway recognises each individual and their families as being the most important auditors of our service.
