Saturday 8am - 1pm

We are closed Sunday and all Public Holidays

Did you know that seeing the same GP regularly can lead to better health outcomes?

MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration system which helps formalise the relationships between patients, their general practice, their preferred GP and primary care team.

By registering in MyMedicare you can access longer funded telehealth consultations with our practice, and you may be eligible for additional health services and funding.

Dear Patients,
Health Matters Fernvale is currently closed until Thursday due to a water leak in the practice. Please call Health Matters Karalee on 0738123133 if your require medical assistance. You can continue to book online for a telehealth appointment with your regular Fernvale GP for Monday - Wednesday. If you have an appointment booked in the next 2 days, you will be contacted via SMS regarding your appointment change.
Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our practice is registered in MyMedicare, and now you can register too.

If you hold a valid Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs Veteran card and have been to see us in person twice over the last 24 months, you’re now eligible to register in MyMedicare.

MyMedicare is all about strengthening the bond between you, your GP and your preferred primary care team. Did you know that seeing the same GP regularly can lead to better health outcomes?

You can begin your registration online through Medicare Online - https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-online-account or we can complete the registration form at your next appointment.

By registering in MyMedicare you can access new benefits, such as longer funded telehealth consultations with our practice.

Please join us in welcoming Ayden (Credentialed Mental Health Nurse) to our team and community at Health Matters Fernvale. Ayden will be at our Karalee practice every Friday.

As a credentialed mental health nurse, Ayden has over 7 years of experience in some of the most challenging environments and with the most complex health concerns. With a nursing background, Ayden is quite experienced in complex mental health presentations and has acquired therapeutic approaches, including art therapy, to assist clients in recovering from traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety and other concerns. Ayden is comfortable with clients of all ages, including families, couples and individuals.

Please join us in welcoming Dr Denis Bartrum to Health Matters Fernvale.

Dr Denis Bartrum is an experienced skin doctor, with over 30 years in General Practice, as well as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the School of Medicine at University of Queensland. Dr Bartrum is a college accredited skin cancer clinician with a special interest in skin cancer medicine, minor surgery and procedural work, skin check for specific lesion of concern and minor trauma (emergency medicine). Outside of General Practice, Dr Bartrum enjoys wood carving, mandolin playing and spending time with his family. He is married with five children and enjoys being a grandfather to copious grandchildren.
