Update regarding Finley Hospital redevelopment & X-ray services.

**Construction continuing at Finley Health Service**

The Finley Health Service Redevelopment is continuing. The construction works are being carefully staged to minimise disruptions to patients, community and staff. Stage 2 works to be undertaken from 4 November include continuation of the roof replacement and internal refurbishments.

Please note the following temporary changes at the facility while these works occur:
* closure of part of the driveway and some car spaces adjacent to the former physiotherapy room,
* the central corridor (eastern end) will be closed,
* the outpatient X-ray service will temporarily relocate to Tocumwal Health Service from Monday, 3 November 2025 until project completion. The mobile x-ray machine will continue to provide some imaging for emergency presentations and inpatients at Finley Health Service,
* the physiotherapy service is temporarily located in the Community Health building until project completion,
* the community sharps bin and fitpack machine has relocated to outside the Community Health building until project completion.

Thank you for your patience while we complete these important works for the redevelopment.

🎃 We’re not saying your Halloween decorations should come with a health warning, but if you’re carving pumpkins this week, maybe take a moment to check your own. Because when it comes to breast cancer, early detection is the real treat.

Here’s the deal:

Breasts change over time - through puberty, pregnancy, breastfeeding, ageing, and weight fluctuations. These changes are usually normal. But what’s important is knowing what normal looks like for you.

Keep an eye out for:

- A lump, lumpiness or thickening (especially in only one breast)
- Changes in size or shape
- Ni**le changes: crusting, redness, pain, discharge, or inversion
- Skin changes: dimpling, rash, itchiness, or unusual colour
- Swelling or discomfort in the armpit or collarbone area
- Ongoing pain not linked to your cycle

Noticed a changes in your breasts or something feels off? Don’t wait, book an appointment with your GP.

If you’re aged 50–74, you are eligible for a free mammogram every 2 years through BreastScreen Victoria. Screening is also available to Women aged 40–49 and over 74. The earlier breast cancer is found, the better the chance of successful treatment. Mammograms can spot changes too small to feel, and comparing scans over time helps track changes.

So, while you are carving up your lanterns this Halloween, make sure you are giving your other pumpkins the same attention too. It’s one of the easiest ways to look after yourself.
