Endo belly is most definitely a THING.
It’s not unusual to get bloating with your period, endometriosis just takes it to a whole new level.

Endo belly is the the extreme, painful bloating and distention associated with endometriosis which lasts a few days to two weeks before the beginning of the cycle.

To reduce endo belly symptoms, it is important to eat foods that are simple, nourishing and won’t promote inflammation.

We recommend a well balanced, low GI diet including lots of:
⭐️Warm easy to digest foods such as soups, stews, bone broth and congee.
⭐️Quality, organic protein plus whole grains in every meal.
⭐️Plenty of omega 3 fatty acid found in fish and seeds.
⭐️Anti Inflammatory herbs including turmeric, ginger and fennel.

Try to avoid, or limit:
❌Dairy
❌Gluten
❌High fructose foods, especially onion and garlic
❌Foods high in refined sugars
❌Highly processed foods
❌Too much raw, cold or frozen foods

Acupuncture and herbal medicine can help ease your bloating too. For more info send. DM or come in for an appointment - to book jump online, link in bio ♥️

Did you know it can take 7-10 years to be diagnosed with endometriosis? Thankfully Chinese Medicine does not need a diagnosis to be able to help you manage your menstrual pain.

We ask questions like:
What does your pain feel like and when is it worse?
How do you manage your pain?
How heavy is your flow and do you get clotting?
What digestive changes do you get with your period?
What premenstrual symptoms do you experience?
to help us understand what is going on in your body.

We then offer acupuncture treatments, herbal medicine and lifestyle advice tailored specifically to support you and your body with all its unique quirks.

Please reach out for more info or to book an appointment - links in bio 💕

Did you know endometrial lesions are laid down at birth or arrive outside the uterus via retrograde menstruation?
Chinese Medicine considers endometriosis, and any menstrual pain, to be a stagnation of menstrual flow. This is termed Blood Stagnation and has a number of causes including:
🩸Blood deficiency. This is where there is not enough Blood to fill the vessels and flow properly. Similar to the slow trickle of a river in late summer.
🩸Cold blockage. This comes from either a lack of yang life force (burn out), or over exposure to cold through diet or the environment.
🩸Stagnation of Qi. It is said that Qi moves the blood, when we become stressed our Qi flow stagnates. Long term Qi stasis can in itself cause pain and eventually will result in the stagnation of blood flow.
🩸Damp accumulation. This usually stems from poor digestion. When we are unable to metabolize our food properly it accumulates as Dampness blocking Qi and Blood flow.

March is endometriosis awareness month 🎗️👉

Endometriosis is a chronic, progressive condition where endometrial like tissue is found growing outside of the uterus. It is now estimated that as many as one in 7 women are affected by it and although symptoms vary from person to person, one of the main diagnosing factors is extreme pelvic pain.

Western medicine offers hormonal treatment including the oral contraceptive pill or Mirena, surgery and strong pain medication. If these treatment options aren’t for you consider Chinese medicine. We offer a holistic approach for managing endometriosis and have seen acupuncture and herbal medicine turn people’s pain around time and time again 💛

Stay tuned for more, we’ll be posting everything you need to know about endometriosis plus our favourite tips and tricks to help manage it for the month of March💛

Holly is BACK!!! 🙌😆
Holly (.acupuncture ) has been on a sabbatical over the past year travelling, visiting family and STILL managing to hone her acupuncture skills.

Holly is an excellent practitioner both as a classical herbalist and as a Tung (pronounced D**g) acupuncturist.
Tung acupuncture is a style of acupuncture which employs minimal needles to create maximum results.
Holly finds this technique works especially well for pain disorders, where acupoints are often located far away from the site of injury or pain, and for people who just don’t love needles.

Holly has a special interest in supporting people struggling with:
🍃Pain and injuries of any sort
🍃Burnout - both adrenal and chronic fatigue
🍃 Menstrual health - from endometriosis to menopause
🍃Fatigue, anxiety and sleep issues

You can book in with Holly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays - links in bio.
She’s looking forward to seeing you again soon ❤️

Welcoming the Year of the Yang Fire Horse!

Today’s new moon marks the beginning of the Year of the yang Fire Horse in Chinese astrology.
The combination of these two powerful yang energies is expected to usher in an wild year brimming with passion and transformation.

In Chinese culture, the Horse is considered to be a majestic creature full of power, independence, and unstoppable momentum, while the Fire element represents inspiration and transformation.
The synergy of the Yang Horse’s raw strength combined with the dynamic energy of Fire suggests that 2026 will be a year marked by intense emotions, swift decision-making, and significant transformation.
This is the perfect moment to capitalize on the positive changes made during the Year of the Snake and truly make them as your own.

While an abundance of yang energy may feel thrilling, it often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and chaotic.
During a Yang Fire Horse year, maintaining a sense of grounding and composure can be challenging. Fortunately, you can call on your secret weapon: acupuncture to help you stay grounded and thrive through the chaos.

Those welcoming a child this year can expect a vibrant, independant and charming individual. They are likely to be natural leaders with a strong ability to adapt to the challenges of life.

Wishing you all the very best lunar year, may you have the strength, intelligence and intuition required to aid you in realising your your dreams ❤️🔥🐎
