Tomorrow we will be showcasing Stone & Wood Pacific Ale – an icon brewed by a team from the Northern Rivers of NSW that has had community at its core since 2008. First B Corp certified in 2016, Stone & Wood backs up the badge with real action, including the inGrained Foundation which has donated over $2,800,000 to grassroots charities across the Northern Rivers.

Lens edging is a water-intensive process, but it doesn’t have to be wasteful.

During the lens edging process, water is typically used once and discarded, carrying harmful microplastics with it. At Seekers, we’ve rethought that system to significantly reduce our water consumption and eliminate water pollution.

Our lab filters and recycles this water through a four-stage process, removing microplastics for responsible recycling via our partnership with TerraCycle. The reclaimed water is then reused in-store, from watering our plants to cleaning our floors.

It’s a small, considered system, designed to reduce waste, conserve water, and tread more lightly.

Because better business is built on the details you don’t always see.

The most sustainable frame is often the one you already own.

During B Corp Month, we’re reflecting on the small, practical ways we reduce waste every day at Seekers.

Rather than replacing frames at the first sign of wear, we help extend their life through:

– Repairs, including laser and shell welding
– Frame refurbishment and buffing
– Relensing existing frames

A well-made frame can last for many years, sometimes decades, with the right care. By restoring and relensing, we keep beautiful eyewear in use and out of landfill.

And when frames do eventually reach the end of their life with you, they can still do good. We donate suitable spectacles through the Lions Recycle for Sight program, or recycle frames with Spexcycle, where they’re transformed into new ones.

Because sustainability isn’t only about what you buy next, it’s about making what you already love last longer.

Just a few doors down from us on Gertrude Street sits Le Labo - a New York perfume house renowned for its high-end, artisanal unisex fragrances.

Step inside and the experience feels more atelier than retail. Perfumes are freshly compounded and labelled by hand, with each scent built around carefully sourced ingredients, from Centifolia rose grown in Grasse to bergamot from Italy. It’s perfumery slowed down, where craftsmanship and storytelling take precedence over mass production.

Like us, Le Labo is also part of the global community of B Lab Certified B Corporations. A shared belief that business can be a force for good, pairing considered design with responsibility.

If you’re visiting Seekers, it’s well worth wandering a little further along Gertrude Street. Your senses will thank you.
