In the lead up to Victoria's Pride Street Party on Sunday 8 February, we took a moment with the Seekers team to reflect on what it means to be 'Proud to be Seen'.

Seekers x Pride: a moment with Kye

-- Name:
Kye O'Donnell

-- Frames on rotation:
LINDBERG Rim Bo, Navy with Silver Groove Colour - my favourite for all day wear, comfortable, light and nothing blocking my peripheral vision
AHLEM Galilee, Champagne Gold - my favourite for more formal occasions, the gold sparkles and the Sensity lenses protect me from glare when outside
DITA Zinzire, Black - my favourite sunglass, wrapped with mirror lenses great for people watching

-- Pride, in one word:
Visibility

-- How does eyewear help you feel Proud to be Seen?
My eyewear is an extension of my personality, so naturally I choose pieces that make me feel my authentic self.

-- How do you see Seekers showing up for everybody in practice?
We provide all our customers the same high standard of care and service. We help to make quality eyecare more accessible to under-serviced communities by bulk billing consultations for children, students, pensioners and health care card holders. Our Seekers Supports program also provides financial support for charities selected by our customers. Our Seekers Impacts program helps to minimise our environmental impacts, which is great for everyone.

Seekers x Pride: a moment with Kenny

-- Name:
Kenny Chua

-- Frames on rotation:
I am primarily a contact lens wearer but I am also the resident team member that advocates to see both ways; with contact lenses and spectacles.

When I'm home giving my eyes a rest from contact lenses my main pair of prescription spectacles is the LINDBERG Thintanium 5523. Due to my high prescription LINDBERG is the only choice for me. I love it because of the strength of the full titanium frame and also the lightness, which they are world renowned for. You really have to experience it to understand. The two sunglasses that I rotate between are the DITA AlkamX and my Dita Muskel frame in crystal and a light orange lens from HOYA. Why? It's Dita, they're hot.

-- Pride, in one word:
Free

-- How does eyewear help you feel Proud to be Seen?
As the Seekers frame curator, I take pride in my ability to choose frames that my clients want to wear, not because they have to.
It's particularly warming when a frame is chosen that becomes part of their identity and they come in just to tell me all the compliments they're getting. That's the feeling of "Proud to be Seen".

-- Seekers sits on Gertrude Street, at the heart of Victoria’s Pride Street Party. What does being part of this neighbourhood mean to you?
Before working at Seekers, I have to admit that I was not aware of how vibrant the community is. I was never really a part of it. Being our 6th year here and having this relationship with everyone in the neighbourhood, the clients and even the surrounding business owners, it's hard to think of a better place to be in. It really is a community where you can be yourself and be Free!

-- Frames on rotation:

Cutler & Gross Lansdowne c.01T
DITA Detron c.A-01

-- Pride, in one word:
Authenticity

-- How does eyewear help you feel Proud to be Seen?
Eyewear for me is an extension of character. It helps me reflect my personal style to the world.

-- What does being a business owner and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community mean to you?
Being a business owner and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community allows me to give back to my community and create a safe space for us all.

Objekt Eyewear has arrived at Seekers, marking the newest chapter in Seekers Impacts — our ongoing commitment to community and environment. Created in partnership with , Objekt frames are handcrafted in Australia from recycled eyewear donated by optical practices across the country, including Seekers.

Objekt represents closed-loop circularity in its purest form: eyewear made from eyewear. From collection through to creation, each frame is fully traceable, carrying a clear story of considered design and material reuse.

Defined by the recycled material itself, every batch is uniquely shaped by what has been collected each time. Explore the unique Objekt collection in our Gertrude Street showroom or view the range online.

To learn more about the partnership and the journey behind Objekt, read the full blog at our website. And if you have old frames you’re ready to say farewell to, bring them in to help keep the cycle going.

You may have noticed it before you realised what it was.

Warm. Subtle. Familiar.

Our signature Seekers scent has always been part of the showroom experience — and now, you can take it home.

Introducing Gertrude: a bespoke candle inspired by the creative rhythm and quiet confidence of Gertrude Street. Notes of leather, violet, sandalwood and amber come together in a scent that feels layered, modern and unmistakably Seekers.

Available in limited quantities, in-store and online.

A much-loved fixture on Lygon Street, Old Palm Liquor is a wine bar that feels instantly familiar, yet full of character. Warm timber, rattan ceilings, whirring fans and a soundtrack spun on vinyl set the tone for delicious, unhurried evenings.

The wine list is expansive and adventurous, championing minimal-intervention bottles from across the globe, alongside Guinness on tap and thoughtful local beers. In the open kitchen, chef Almay Jordaan draws on South African influences, working with fire and smoke to bring depth to vegetables, seafood and char-grilled flatbreads.

Drop in any day of the week for a drink, a meal, or something in between.

Balanced oval lines, sculptural detail, and unmistakable Matsuda craftsmanship.

The 10604H is a collector’s frame. Hand-crafted in Japan, individually numbered, and finished with exquisite metalwork that rewards a closer look. We’re lucky to have two colours currently in-store, each part of a strictly limited global release.

For those who appreciate eyewear as design, not just function.
