If you’re wondering whether luteal phase defect (LPD) could be playing a role in your fertility, it’s worth taking a closer look.

A shorter luteal phase can be easy to overlook, but it can affect timing, implantation, and cycle stability. It’s not always straightforward - and it’s rarely one single cause.

Our naturopaths assess this in context - hormones, ovulation, thyroid, nutrition, stress, and the broader picture of your health - so you’re not left piecing it together on your own.

If this resonates, you’re very welcome to book in and have it assessed thoroughly.

Save this if it’s something you want to come back to.

Care is in the treatment, and in the space that holds it.

This is one of our massage rooms. Quiet, private, and set up so you can walk in, exhale, and settle into your session.

It’s where many of our fertility, pregnancy and postpartum massage sessions take place, shaped around what you need on the day.

Our massage team, Fiona Harrison, Reina Hanaoka, Michelle Lowe and Michelle Murray, each bring deep experience in this work, and meet you with care that feels steady, present and real.

When you’re trying to conceive, support doesn’t always look like more information or another plan. Sometimes it’s having a place where your body can soften and you can feel held in the process.

Fertility massage can offer that kind of space. A chance to slow things down, reconnect with yourself, and be supported through what can feel like a lot to carry over time.

Our massage team, Fiona Harrison, Reina Hanaoka, Michelle Lowe and Michelle Murray, bring deep experience in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care, and each session is shaped around where you are and what you need in that moment.

This is the kind of recipe you make once… and then suddenly you’re making it again the next week.

Zucchini + lentil fritters, from fertility and pregnancy naturopath and nutritionist on our Fertile Ground team Georgia Marrion .naturopath.nutritionist

Crisp edges, soft middle, and very easy to eat more of than you planned.

They tick a lot of boxes without trying too hard - protein, fibre, easy ingredients you might have in the fridge and they’re flexible enough to work with whatever you’ve got going on.

Make a batch, eat a few straight off the tray (mandatory), save the rest for later. They reheat well, or honestly, cold is also good. Why not!

If you’ve been wanting something simple to add into the mix, this is a good one.

And if you want more tailored support around fertility, hormones or nutrition, our naturopaths can help you figure out what actually makes sense for you, including herbal medicine and targeted supplements where needed.

Preparing for birth isn’t something that starts in labour. It’s something your body begins doing in the weeks leading up to it.

Acupuncture is often included during this time as a way to support the body as it prepares for labour - with sessions adapted to the stage of pregnancy and your individual needs.

In the later stages, treatment may focus on:

🤰🏻supporting relaxation and nervous system regulation
🤰🏻 easing physical tension and discomfort
🤰🏻 supporting sleep and energy reserves
🤰🏻 and gently preparing the body for birth

In this video, Fertile Ground Chinese medicine practitioner & acupuncturist, Tara Hanaphy, shares how this approach is used in practice, and what birth preparation can look like in the final weeks of pregnancy.

At Fertile Ground, this work is always individualised and often sits alongside your broader care team - including midwives and obstetricians.

Save this for later pregnancy, or share it with someone preparing for birth.

You trained in massage because you care about people - and you know how powerful this work can be in the right environment.

This role is built around that.

At Fertile Ground, your work supports people through some of the most meaningful stages of their lives - fertility, pregnancy and postpartum. The kind of care where you really feel the difference you’re making.

The pace is thoughtful, the space is calm and beautiful, and the team around you work together.

We’re looking for a remedial + pregnancy massage therapist who enjoys women’s health, values connection, and wants to be part of something established, supportive and purpose-led.

If this feels like your kind of place, we’d love to hear from you.

Long weekend energy is a bit different, slower mornings, more shared meals, a break from the usual pace. And sometimes, a bit more headspace for those random thoughts to pop up...

“Should I be adding protein powder right now?”

“Is that something I’m meant to be doing for fertility?”

Short answer - sometimes, but not as the main event.

What matters most is your everyday food. Eating regularly, getting enough protein across the day, not skipping or under-fuelling. That’s what your hormones, cycle and energy are built on.

Protein powder can be helpful - especially if you’re vegetarian, busy, or just not quite getting enough in. But it’s there to support, not replace.

If you’re unsure what this looks like for you, our naturopaths can help you make sense of it in a really practical way - looking at your diet, your routine, and what your body actually needs right now, and where herbal medicine or nutritional supplements may be useful if indicated. You can start with a free 10-minute consult if you want a simple place to begin. Thanks to one of our Fertile Ground fertility, pregnancy and post partum naturopaths, Georgia Marrion .naturopath.nutritionist, for this healthy reminder.

Cold mornings call for this (like this morning!). A warm, easy breakfast we come back to every autumn and winter.

Stewed apples, cinnamon, yoghurt or kefir, and a bit of nut butter on top.

Warm, simple, and kind of exactly what you feel like when it’s cold out.

We usually make a batch and keep it in the fridge - takes a couple of minutes to heat up and you’re sorted.

Thanks to nutritionist and naturopath on our Fertile Ground team, Georgia Marrion, for this morsel of delight.

Save it for later or make it this week.

Can naturopathy support pregnancy fatigue and low energy? Naturopath and nutritionist, Georgia Marrion, explains more.

Low energy during pregnancy is something we see often in clinic, and there are usually a few different factors involved.

These can include:
🫄suboptimal or deficient nutrient levels
🤰poor blood glucose control
🫄not eating enough, or not eating in a way that supports your individual needs

Naturopathic care focuses on understanding what may be contributing in your case, and supporting you to improve this with personalised nutrition, lifestyle and supplementation where appropriate.

If your energy feels lower than you expected, this is something you can explore further with our team.

Book via link in bio.

Gluten and endometriosis - are they related?

It’s a common question we hear in clinic. For some, it makes a meaningful difference - for others, it’s not the driver.

If you’ve been trying to work out what actually matters for your body, you’re so welcome to book a free 10-minute chat with Georgia - a space to ask your questions, feel into the approach, and see if it’s the right fit for deeper work together.
