OFF-FEET CONDITIONING FOR INJURED ATHLETES

Stay conditioned. Return stronger.

Injury doesn’t mean losing fitness, it means adjusting your conditioning. Off-feet training helps maintain aerobic capacity, repeat-effort ability and high-intensity conditioning without stressing the injured area. However nothing can replace field running and the sport itself.

Energy systems decline fast when training stops:
⚡ Anaerobic power: drops in 5–7 days
⚡ Aerobic capacity (VO₂ max): declines within 10–14 days
⚡ Muscular endurance: reduces across 2–3 weeks

That’s why targeted conditioning is essential during rehab.

Modify the session to the injury:
🔥 Single-arm rower, assault bike or ski for upper-limb injuries with intact legs
🔥 No-legs assault bike for lower-limb injuries
🔥 Seated ski erg for ankle, knee or foot injuries
🔥 Bike intervals for all upper-limb injuries

These variations keep the cardiovascular system stimulated and minimise deconditioning.

Rehab isn’t stopping, it’s adapting.
