Remember this familiar face? We are so excited to announce that Jacinta is officially back at Theia Optical!

Many of you will remember Jacinta from her student days at our front desk. She’s now returned to us as a seasoned Optometrist after a stint in regional NSW, where she gained expert experience managing complex eye conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration alongside local specialists.

When she’s not saving sight, she’s usually at her sewing machine or crafting something creative! 🧵🪡

Cataracts happen when the clear lens inside your eye becomes cloudy, making your vision blurry and dim. It’s a common part of aging but can also be caused by diabetes, eye trauma or overexposure to UV.

The only way to treat cataracts is with surgery. During the procedure, the cloudy lens is removed and replace with a clear artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL).

Cataract surgery is relatively quick and safe and most people notice brighter and clearer vision within days!
