What many people don’t realise is that I don’t just do kids’ workshops.

Often parents leave my sessions saying, “I wish we had this at work.” So… I do that too. The same tools I use to help kids feel calm, focused, and confident to improve overall health and digestion are just as powerful in staff rooms, workplaces, and on stages.

As we head further into the year and teams start thinking about wellbeing, engagement, and energy... this work matters more than ever!

Same message.
Same heart.
Just a different audience.

We do things from two places: LOVE or FEAR.

For a long time, I didn't realise how much of my life, and my health, was driven by fear.
Fear of getting it wrong.
Fear of losing control.
Fear of my body not behaving the way I wanted it to.

Everything changed when I slowed down and shifted the lens from fear to love.

Love listens.
Love slows down.
Love asks, “What do you need?”

Before we worry about being loved by others, it’s worth learning what our body loves.

What helps you feel calm.
What helps you feel grounded.
What helps you feel good in yourself.

Because when we trust our body, we stop fighting it... with food, with expectations, and with life.

This is why, In my workshops, I teach children and adults how to care for their bodies... through breath, awareness, and connection.

That’s where real nourishment begins.

Someone once told me, “If you’re talking to everyone, you’re talking to no one!” Ever heard that phrase?

But here’s the funny thing…

I can walk into a room full of CEOs.
I can walk into a classroom of preps.
I can walk onto a high school stage.

And somehow.... everyone listens to what I have to say.
(The only person who doesn’t listen to me is my husband 😉)

I’ve realised I’m a bit of a chameleon when it comes to teaching.

I meet people where they are, whether that’s big feelings, busy brains, burnout, or bell times (yes, that was alliteration... English teachers, you're welcome).

Because nutrition isn’t just about what we eat.
It’s about how safe the body feels.
How calm the nervous system is.
And whether the body is even ready to receive nourishment in the first place.

I work with kids.
I work with teens.
I work with adults and leadership teams.

Different rooms. Same message.

If you’ve ever wondered whether I could support your school, workplace, or community... this is your sign to reach out.

(April holidays are full, but the conversations are always open.)

Behind the scenes of my workshops.

These props aren’t random.
They help kids, teens and adults relax.
They soften big topics.
They make learning feel safe.

Somewhere along the way I learnt that when play and laughter leads, knowing follows.

Also… yes, airport security has questions.

The day my child was laughed at for a corn cob changed how I pack lunchboxes FOREVER.

As a nutritionist, I used to make very nutritious, very “whole food” lunchboxes.

I baked with my kids.
I packed real food.
I did what I thought I should be doing.

And then school happened.

Comments from other kids.
Laughing.
Comparison.

One day my son opened his lunchbox and got laughed at for having a corn on the cob.
From that day on, corn was banned. Forever.

What I learned very quickly is this:

You can tell your kids not to listen to the bullying and stick up for themselves as much as you want while building resilience but...Lunchbox anxiety isn’t about food... it’s about belonging.

Around Grade 2 or 3, comparisonitis kicks in.
Kids start noticing what others have.
Packet foods. Cookies. Bright wrappers.

And suddenly, opening your lunchbox feels risky.

I see this all the time in clinic too.
Parents feeling pressure from influencer-perfect lunchboxes.
Kids feeling embarrassed.
Everyone feeling like they’re failing.

Here’s the reframe that changed everything for us:

A calm, confident child matters more than a perfect lunchbox.

Nourishment doesn’t live in one meal.
It lives across the whole day.
Breakfast. After school. Dinner. Home.

And sometimes, a little packet food is the price of emotional safety while we teach our kids to be strong and resilience...it's not poor parenting.

Food education comes with age.
Resilience comes with support.
And no child should feel ashamed of what they eat.

If lunchboxes feel stressful in your house, you’re not alone.
And you’re not doing it wrong.

Sure, tell your kids not to listen to the bullying and stick up for what they like but...Lunchbox anxiety isn’t always about food... it’s about belonging.

Around Grade 2 or 3, comparisonitis kicks in.
Kids start noticing what others have.

I’m officially a high school mum… and that comes with a whole new level of letting go.

Both my boys are out of primary now.

And to be honest? It’s stirred up a little anxiety inside me.

My mum once said to me, “Wait until they’re teens. You can’t control what they eat then.”

And she was right.

They’ll have slushies.
They’ll go to Maccas.
They’ll make choices you wouldn’t.

And there’s not much you can do about it…except have nourishing food at home and be a good role model when it comes to your own health.

I hope I’ve done enough.
I hope I’ve planted the seeds.

In my workshops, I tell kids they’ve been given a gift.
You should see their faces… they start looking around the room, trying to spot it.

Then I tell them:

The gift is you.
Your body.
The one you’ll have for your whole life.
The body that will take you places.
The body that will feel amazing sometimes… and not so great at others. A lot of how we feel comes down to how we look after that gift.
What we put into it.
How we nourish it.
How we treat it each day.
It’s the most important thing you’ll ever own.

And here’s the hard part of parenting:

One day they grow up… and that’s it.
You’ve helped keep that gift safe all these years.
Now it’s theirs.
We can only impart so much wisdom.
We can only build strong ethics around health.
After that, our actions speak louder than our words.

So I’ll keep being the example.
Keep showing up with energy.
Keep surprising kids when I tell them I’m an “unc”.
(Which apparently now stands for uncle… aka old. Not what it meant in my day 😅)

Starting to let go is hard.
But trusting what you’ve taught them matters.

Somewhere along the way health turned into rules pressure guilt and that tight feeling in your chest when you think you are not doing enough.

But real health is never meant to feel like punishment for you or your kids. It is meant to feel human doable and kind.

When we shift from fear to curiosity everything changes.

Kids relax.

Adults breathe again.

And food becomes something we explore instead of stress about.

Swipe for simple ways to make health feel safe joyful and actually sustainable for the whole family.

If you want your school or workplace to learn about wellbeing in a way that feels supportive not scary comment WORKSHOP and I will send you the details.
