Positive Partnerships

Positive Partnerships Tips, info & workshops to support school-aged autistic students. This reflects the bi-partisan support and value the government place on this program.

Nobody knows the complexities of parenting or caring for a child on the autism spectrum like you do. Every child is different; which is why partnerships with schools is important to foster, for this can provide the best support to a child's education. Bringing together your experience and intimate knowledge with our own evidence-based approach, we can create the most positive pathway through the complexities of education for children and young people on the autism spectrum. Positive Partnerships provides professional support and assistance for parents and carers like you. Our solution based tools and workshops will help you build your confidence and knowledge in some of the key areas associated with supporting your child as they grow and develop. All of our online and in-person programs are backed and funded by the Australian Government, and have been since 2008. When we work together, we can help create a path for children that provides them with the best possible learning opportunities. If you feel you'd like to know more, share experiences and learn from others living your experience, we're here with authentic and practical support. Positive Partnerships is the foundation of a positive support network between parents, teachers, carers and the children in your care. Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). This year’s theme, β€œFostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress”, is a reminder that inclusion doesn’t just happen in policy documents. It happens in classrooms, playgrounds, staff rooms, the home and the community every single day.

At Positive Partnerships, we have many resources available on our website to support practical, inclusive outcomes for autistic students. Explore our resources here:

πŸ™Œ We have loved being part of the Positive Schools conferences this month and last. Our team, including Western Australian coordinator Rebecca Wahlsten and delivery team member Katherine Browne, attended the Fremantle event (pictured). Yesterday, they facilitated a workshop at the conference on nurturing autistic students' wellbeing through inclusive classrooms.

It has been terrific seeing neurodivergent education become such a focus at this and other conference events around the country πŸš€

Our Story

Positive Partnerships works together with parents, carers and educators of school-aged children on the autism spectrum to provide current, relevant and evidence-base information through workshops and online resources.

A diagnosis of autism can be a daunting prospect for parents, guardians and carers. Each child is affected by autism in a different way. Positive Partnerships aims to provide useful, evidence-based information help those caring for children on the autism spectrum understand how the disorder affects their child and the most effective ways to improve their educational and social outcomes.

We offer a range of workshops for parents and schools around Australia, along with live webinars, online learning and regularly updated fact sheets. These tools ensure you always have access to the most up-to-date information to support and engage the child in your care.
