Description:
A relaxed peer space to connect through gaming. At the start we’ll share what games everyone is playing and what you’d like to get out of the session. Towards the end we’ll check in on how it went—what worked, what didn’t, and what you discovered.

You’re welcome to play the same game as others or something completely different – Minecraft, indie favourites, or whatever you enjoy. Conversation can be light or minimal; it’s fine just to hang out alongside each other. Screen sharing is welcome (please keep content safe-for-work).

Join the Discord server if you want to screenshare or just discuss the games you like in between sessions: https://discord.gg/x84HzHyf

What are you trying to change, create, or respond to through your social enterprise (or idea)?
What lived experience is shaping your social enterprise purpose, and how is that influencing what you’re creating?
What tensions are you noticing between your values (social purpose) and the systems you have to work within?

Quote: Dr Sharon Zivkovic (2024) argues “Autistic owned and led businesses that align with the mission of the neurodiversity movement are by definition social enterprises”.

Inspired by Dr Sharon Zivkovic’s Program for Autistic Innovators, Systemisers & Social Entrepreneurs’ (link below), this Discussion space was started as an addition to the developing ecosystem for supporting Autistic Social Entrepreneurs. We welcome alumni of the course and Autistic Social Entrepreneurs at any stage on their journey.

Autistic Social Entrepreneurs are the experts of our unique ways of working and conceptualising. This is a community space for sharing about our projects/businesses/innovations/products/ideas, helpful resources and our unique ways of working.

This group will be co-created and is focused on shared community learning and peer support. It will be evolving in response to the needs of the group as all Neurokindred groups do-so please think about what you need from this space and also what support you can offer to others.
We are all in this together.

I thought I’d share a little about why peer groups focused on these particular intersecting experiences are so very necessary.

Religious trauma takes place in relationship, in community, in families-usually unidentified neurodivergent families-places where betrayal cuts deep and trust in others is forever affected. As such it is ‘in relationship’ that reclaiming and healing needs to occur.

Whilst I believe therapeutic work is powerful and needed-I trully feel the corrective group/community relational experience is incredibly necessary. It certainly was and is for me.

But what can that look like, feel like, be like-how can ‘counter-conditions’ be created so maybe the possibility of connecting can occur? Can community exist without coercion, without ‘group think’, without surveillance, without obligation?

Peer groups offer the flattened power structure that can be conducive to these conditions. Facilitated space where everyone is unpacking and detangling.
A shared experience of deconstruction and reclaimation.
And memes-always relatable memes, and songs and art that help lighten and ground.

Those are some initial thoughts and I have shared more here: https://youtu.be/7khfZaK1vkY?si=XtO448vHwwjObI7_

Building includes Lego (and variants), construction kits, miniatures, crafting etc.
Bring it all along and build, deconstruct, chat or not in community.
Got questions or a project in mind and want some ideas?
Excited about a new build project and want to share to an appreciative audience?
Are you a beginner (like me) who wants to try something new in a supportive environment?
Do you just need a 'time out' from the 'busy' to relax in community?
Crafting, colouring, fibre arts, construction…all activities welcome.
