Growing up in Burrell Creek and completed his schooling in Taree. Thomas has worked in Forster as an optometrist since 2009, having graduated from UNSW Sydney with Honours Class 1.

He enjoys providing continuous care to his patients in all aspects of general optometry, and will provide appropriate referrals as needed. His long standing patients have nothing but praise & gratitude for Tom & his thorough optometry care.

Outside of practice Tom loves taking his 2 boys out on the boat fishing. Loves a fishing chat! If you like talking Cricket even better 😉

Thomas is available Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm & Fridays 8am - 1.30pm. George & Matilda Eyecare Forster has welcomed a new optometrist to the team! Elinor Zhu

Elinor is a passionate optometrist who has experience practicing across regional Australia including the Bendigo region and along the Mid North Coast. Along the way, she has met people from all walks of life. This has built upon her love for delivering personalised, high-quality eye care, with a warm smile and a good chat.

Elinor is passionate about all aspects of optometry and places a strong emphasis on patient-centred care. She particularly enjoys getting to know her patients, listening to their stories, and ensuring all their concerns are thoroughly addressed. Elinor is committed to ongoing professional development and stays up to date with the latest advancements in eye care. She takes pride in providing thorough eye examinations and working collaboratively with patients to achieve the best possible visual outcomes.

When she’s not in the clinic, Elinor is usually chasing “just one more” pickleball rally. On her days off, she can be found experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or enthusiastically taste-testing the local restaurant scene.

Elinor is available Monday - Friday 9am -5pm & every second Saturday 9am -1pm starting from Feb. Appointments can be made with Elinor by calling the practice on (02) 6554 7817 or online via our website or through HotDocs.

From November 27th till 17th December 2025 we will be collecting new wrapped or unwrapped children’s toys that will be proudly donated to Great Lakes Women’s Shelter & Ronald McDonald Forster Retreat for kids this Christmas.
