Our Physiotherapists Aaron, Lucy and Charlotte recently spent the day building on their Pilates training with Pilates Education Australia.

It was a great course and they’ve come away with some new ideas, variations and techniques that we’re looking forward to bringing into our sessions here at Great Lakes Physio.

Ongoing learning is a big part of what we do – it helps us keep things fresh and make sure you’re getting the most out of your rehab and training.

🧠 It’s Brain Awareness Week!

Did you know? Over 700,000 Australians will be affected by a brain injury, and 1 in 45 people are currently living with one.

This week is about raising awareness of brain health, and the real impact neurological conditions can have on everyday life.

At Great Lakes Physio, our experienced team works with people managing conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, balance disorders and more.

Our goal is simple – to help you improve, maintain and get the most out of your physical function, whether that’s getting back to daily tasks or returning to the things you enjoy.

If you or someone you know could benefit from support, we’re here to help.

Sore after exercise? That can be completely normal.

Muscle soreness after training is common, especially when you start something new, increase intensity, or return after a break.

But sometimes pain can be a sign of injury rather than normal muscle adaptation.

Hold to read each slide if you need more time.

If you’re unsure whether what you’re feeling is normal soreness or something more, a physiotherapy assessment can help determine what’s going on and the best way to manage it 👇🏼

With International Women’s Day coming up this week, we’ll be shining a light on the women who help make our clinic what it is.

Across the week, we’ll be highlighting our female physiotherapists and therapists – sharing a little about who they are, the work they do, and the experience and care they bring to our patients every day.

We start by acknowledging the team behind the scenes who you may not see every day but who work hard to make the magic happen: Kirby and Beth in accounts, Darci and Deb at Great Lakes reception, Milla at TPC reception, and Sam in marketing.

We’re proud to have strong, capable women across our clinics – helping our community move better, recover well and stay active.

Keep an eye out as we celebrate them 👏

❤️ Heart Health Starts With Movement ❤️

February is Heart Health Month — a great reminder to check in on how we’re looking after one of the most important muscles in our body.

Your heart works for you every single day. The best way to return the favour? Keep moving.

Regular physical activity can help:
• Lower blood pressure
• Improve circulation
• Reduce stress levels
• Support healthy cholesterol
• Improve overall energy and wellbeing

You don’t need extreme workouts to make a difference. A brisk 30-minute walk, light cycling, swimming, or structured strength training a few times a week can have a powerful impact over time.

If you’re unsure where to start, managing an injury, or living with a chronic condition, our team at Great Lakes Physio can help design a safe and achievable exercise plan tailored to you.

Small steps add up. Consistency matters more than perfection. If you’d like guidance on building heart-healthy habits, book in with our team or send us a message — we’re here to help ❤️

At Great Lakes Physio, Terri uses experienced hands and a clinical approach to help with:

• Tight, overworked muscles
• Headaches and neck tension
• Lower back pain
• Shoulder and hip stiffness
• Recovery from training
• Ongoing injury management

Remedial massage can improve movement, reduce pain, increase circulation and help your body recover properly – not just temporarily feel better.

If you’re feeling tight, sore, or just not moving like you should, it might be time to book in.
