I endeavor to provide honest and compassionate readings for anyone who wants to know the truth about their place in this life. I offer affordable, in-depth readings that aren't "charged by the minute" ~ you will get the reading you need not necessarily the reading you may want. While I am honest and ethical, I won't lie and feed you a fairytale ~ that would only serve to hurt you in the end.

Card of the Day ~ Seven of Trees {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} This forest dwelling witch-=girl takes the wildcat as her symbol. She is in a Hazel forestry, hazel being considered by some to be the most potent of magical woods. There is a story os nine hazel trees that grow around a sacred pond, dropping it’s nuts into the water where they are eaten by the salmon of knowledge. It is said anyone who I ate there’s salmon or even the hazel nuts would be gifted with great powers of poetic inspiration and prophecy. The Seven of Trees holds the spirit of the wildcat. She challenges us to fight with ferocity, for the wild places, both in our world and within ourselves. The hazel boughs she wears signify we already have the knowledge we need, even if we can’t see it yet. The seven represents a moment of breakthrough, a shaking off of confusion and self-doubt. Now we are alight with certainty, and the power to act on it. This is a line from the guidebook that I absolutely love ~ We are the sovereignty and sacredness of our own soul. The mighty leap we are making may be one of creative inspiration or intuition with the hazel’s gift of prophecy and poetry.

Card of the Day ~ Death {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} Here we have the Celtic mother Goddess Cailleach in her summer and winter forms. This is a card that speaks of life, death and the constantly repeating cycles of decay and renewal that are the natural world. In Summer she is Bui, wife of the sun God, golden days of beauty and power, and in Winter she is Bauer, the blue skinned ancient Queen of Winter caring for the herds in the cold harsh days. Death is a constant of life, and it is not unusual for our mortality to cross our minds every now and then. The cycles of life and death are spoken of in this card, on scales of something coming to an end like a relationship, a job, a phase of life we have outgrown. Most endings have their pain and mourning but they are also essential for the new life coming through. In order to truly welcome the new we have to make space for it. Death is a release in the Tarot, it’s a break from something that is becoming intolerable or unsustainable, or quite simply, a season in your life has reached it’s natural end. Sometimes some action is required on our behalf to get the endings moving, and it’s not easy. Remember that this isn’t just an ending, it is a renewal.

Card of the Day ~ Ace of Stones {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} The Serpent Stone, or the Clach Nathrach, was among the most prized talismans of the Celtic Druids. The stone was dripped in water and that water was used to heal. The serpent is a potent and mysterious symbol; it represents what is ancient and primal within us. It may not be comfortable but carries a power it would be foolish to ignore. The Ace of Stones brings us a gift. This may be a moment of rebirth, where we can shed an old skin and emerge anew. Or it could be the gaining of something precious. This could be something of material advantage, or much needed healing, or sudden insight & knowledge of great importance. Like the brave Druid’s who would dare to catch a serpent’s stone, we may need to be courageous and take a risk in order to grasp our gift

Card of the Day ~ Six of Waters {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey}There are many deep lochs, rivers and pools of water in the Scottish landscape, and most of them have stories about the Kelpie, or water horse. They are captivating creatures that sometimes appear as seductive men or women who lure their human victims to a watery grave. We’ve all met people who cast a dark glamour who have made us want to dive headfirst into their enchantment, dangers be damned. Sometimes we crave the rich, dark colours of the deeps. Perhaps there is something here calling us to deeper, to go beyond the surface of things into a depth that may be dangerous but calls to us anyway. Perhaps it needs to be asked, what do these depths want from you? Whatever is there cant be banished beneath the surface forever. There may be a situation, a person, that is attracting us almost to the point of magnetism, even though our intuition is saying “hold up old sport” ~ stand back for a minute and consider the consequences. If this is relating to an aspect of ourselves coming through, patience, an open mind and understanding are called for.

Card of the Day ~ Maid of Waters {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} Saining is an old Scottish custom of purification. It is done with water and smoke, and are often used in healing spells. The gentle Maid of Waters has come to soothe and refresh us. The water vessel lies on top of sprigs of juniper. Working with the water and fresh aroma of the juniper berries allows us to feel refreshed and helps us let go of tension. This is also about getting lost in nature, simple tasks that brings us back to ourselves, the delight of working with something peaceful and tangible. This is someone who is kind, calm, open hearted, someone who has a child like wonder of the world. This is a good time to make room for playfulness and allow ourselves to take pleasure in the small, simple things.

Card of the Day ~ King of Trees {Sister Witch Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} Here we see the fire of the Wands element climbing in with the fire of Kingship ~ a potent combination! the Stag represents sovereignty and freedom to the Scottish people, and became an emblem for witches during the time of their greatest persecution. In neo-lithium carvings, the Stag is the eternal guardian and noble spirit of the land. The King has to be one with his realm; the King is the land and the land is the King. This is a person who has natural nobility, a strong sense of self assurance and has a deep sense of belonging. Kings know who they are and where they need/want to be, and in the King of Trees, they have taken their rightful place in the world without question or doubt. This is about knowing where you’re meant to be, why you’re meant to be there and actively stepping into that space. This King shows you as dynamic, powerful and courageous ~ people are inspired by you, they want to be led by you, work with you. There is passion and generosity here, a strong sense of self and a wonderful confidence in who that self is. The King of Trees is also a person who loves a good quest, which means they aren’t fond of being tied down to one thing long term. This is because fire moves and grows and changes direction with the wind.

Card of the Day ~ Six of Skies {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} The Tailbshear is a Gaelic word that translates to Ghost-seer. The Tailsbshear was a vital role in rural Scottish communities as they were an essential intermediary between the folk and the world of spirits. Here, a Tailsbshear is holding the spirits of the recently departed, the far ancestors and the Faerie realm in her mind’s eye. The Six of Skies is a card of unity and balance that brings peace and understanding. The theme of communication between realms may indicate inner healing, or may be a connection with a living person. The Six of Skies also may throw light on the stirrings of a gift within us, illuminating a path of development and growth of our intuitive or psychic powers. It may also be that our sensitivity and empathy are sharp at the moment

Card of the Day ~ Two of Stones {Witch Sister Tarot, created by Julia Jeffrey} The Spiral is the oldest symbol in Celtic culture and one of the oldest patterns created by humans. The Spiral is said to symbolise the sun and radiating energy and also has strong connections with death and rebirth. The Two of Stones shows a matched pair of figures. The creator of this deck has done this with all of the Two’s in the Witch Sister Tarot to provoke questions about identity and relationship. In the Two of Stones we also have the question of direction ~ does our current path lead inwards or outwards? This card is showing us the beginning of a journey. This could be actual travel, it could be a new direction in work or creatively, it could be an internal journey, a spiritual journey even. Whatever it is, we will need to be grounded so as to reach our destination and succeed. Sometimes we just need to feel the earth under our feet and the energy radiating through us. This could even be an invitation to get more earthing and grounding into your life as well, more of nature’s energy and wisdom, perhaps renewing our connection to nature and our place in it. Doing this connects us to the generations before us and with those who will follow.
