Card of the Day ~ Five of Cups {Guardian of the Night Tarot, created by MJ Cullinane} The state of the element in a card can tell us a lot about what is going on ~ here we have five cups, three of which are in various states of destruction with no real possibility of being pout back together. Each of these cups represents a hope or dream or attachment that has broken or not come to pass, and the shattered feeling that comes with having that loss. There are however, two cups that are still standing tall and whole, ready to be of use whenever we need. Those two cups stands as an invitation to understand that not all is lost, there is something for you to take from this situation with you when you move on. It is terribly cliche, but as the Rolling Stones said, you can’t always get what you want, but you just might find you get what you need. This isn’;t an easy or fun card; it denotes loss and disappointment, a setback of some sort. Allow yourself time to process your emotions ~ ignoring them just means they come back in more destructive ways later. Repression isn’t chic. The Five of Cups does though as you to acknowledge the loss and and the pain, then restore balance by letting go of what can not be repaired. Holding on to broken glass will just keep you cut and you won’t be able to heal or move on. The Death’s Head Hawk Moth is drawn to the light ~ use it’s instincts to take you to better places, see the good in others, lighten your days.
