🎄 Christmas Wishes from Mentis Assist 🎄

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks and Christmas wishes to our clients, staff, families, carers, partners, and friends.

This time of year can bring many different emotions — joy, reflection, connection, grief, or fatigue. Whatever this season looks like for you, please know that you are valued, seen, and supported.

☀️ Summer Solstice: A Moment to Pause and Reflect
December 21 marks the longest day of the year.

The Summer Solstice invites us to take a breath, feel the warmth of the sun, and acknowledge the light — both around us and within us.

As we reach this seasonal turning point, it can be helpful to gently check in with yourself:
🌿 What are you ready to let go of?
🌞 What would you like to carry forward into the new season?
🌊 What restores your energy and sense of calm?

The solstice is a reminder to slow down, reconnect with nature, and honour your wellbeing. Small moments of reflection can create space for healing and renewal.

If you're feeling emotionally overwhelmed or simply need support during this time of year, Mentis Assist is here to help.

The lead-up to the holidays can bring increased pressure — to be productive, joyful, organised, social, and constantly “switched on.”

Here are a few simple practices to help stay grounded during this time:

• Start your mornings slowly
• Prioritise intentional rest
• Check in on your basic needs — food, water, movement, sunlight
• Say “no” when you need to, without guilt
• Acknowledge and celebrate small wins

Remember: Your worth is not defined by how much you achieve.
Take care of yourself — gently and without pressure. 💙

If you need support, Mentis Assist is here to help.

💙 Our Hearts Are With You 💙
Yesterday’s tragic events at Bondi Beach have deeply shocked and saddened us all. At Mentis Assist, we stand in solidarity with everyone affected by this senseless act of violence, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to those who are grieving, especially the victims, their families and friends, those who witnessed the horror, the good Samaritans, first responders, medical staff, and the community.

In times like these, the impact reaches far beyond those directly involved, it is felt deeply across our communities. We want to acknowledge the pain, fear and trauma that such events can trigger and reaffirm our commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all people during this difficult time.

If you, or someone you know, is feeling overwhelmed, distressed, or in need of support, please know that you are not alone. We are here for you.

Mid-December Check-In 💭

As the year winds down, take a quiet moment to pause and check in with yourself:

• How is your heart feeling today?
• What’s been draining your energy?
• What’s been supporting your wellbeing lately?
• Are you needing rest, connection, space, or a little softness?

The holiday season can stir up a mix of emotions — joy, stress, grief, excitement, or exhaustion.

Whatever you’re feeling, it’s valid.
You’re doing the best you can, and that’s enough.

If you're finding things difficult or your mental health is feeling heavier than usual, Mentis Assist is here to support you.

Human Rights Day

Today is a reminder that:
🕊️ Your voice matters.
🕊️ Your story matters.
🕊️ Your mental health matters.

Everyone deserves safety, dignity, and support — without exception.
No one should be excluded or discriminated against because of who they are, where they come from, or the experiences they carry.

On Human Rights Day, we stand with — and advocate for — those whose voices aren’t always heard, including people living with mental health challenges and psychosocial disability.

Human rights are universal.
Human rights are non-negotiable.
Human rights belong to all of us.

International Volunteer Day

Today we celebrate the incredible volunteers who give their time, compassion, and energy to support our community. 🤍

A very special thank you to our Mentis Assist Participant Advisory Group, who generously share their lived experience to help shape our services. Your insights, honesty, and advocacy ensure our work remains grounded, inclusive, and genuinely responsive to the people we support.

Your willingness to show up — to listen, to care, and to walk alongside others — creates meaningful change, especially in mental health spaces where connection matters most.

Thank you for the difference you make every single day.

And remember: giving back is meaningful, but rest is essential.
You deserve care too — you can’t pour from an empty cup.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Today we recognise the courage, resilience, and lived experience of people living with disability — including those whose disabilities are unseen. 💙

Mental health challenges are often invisible, yet their impact is real. Many people move through the world carrying struggles that others may never notice, and accessibility must include understanding, empathy, and support for these experiences too.

Let’s commit to:
• Listening without judgement
• Learning with curiosity and compassion
• Advocating for visibility and inclusion
• Elevating the voices of people living with invisible disabilities

Together, we can build a community where mental health is understood, valued, and supported — seen or unseen.

🎄A Gentle Check-In for December
As we welcome the final month of the year, we invite you to pause and take a mindful moment.

Before the busyness begins, ask yourself 🤔:
• What do I need more of this month?
• What do I need less of?
• How can I protect my energy as the year draws to a close?

December can bring both joy and pressure. It’s okay to slow down, set healthy boundaries, and prioritise your mental wellbeing.

Take care of yourself—you're allowed to approach this season in a way that feels right for you. 💚💚💚

November 25 - International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women 🧡

Today is a reminder that safety, dignity, and respect are basic human rights, and that ending violence against women is everyone’s responsibility.

It’s a day to listen, to learn, and to stand in solidarity with survivors. Real change begins with awareness, empathy, and everyday actions that create a culture of respect.

Together, we can build communities where every woman and girl feels safe, supported, and valued.
